Although summer is winding down, the weather in September in Fuengirola is still quite warm. Hotel Reyesol is a two-star hotel that has 53 rooms, 12 of which come with double beds, and the remaining 41 rooms have two single beds. It is an ideal hotel to stay at for singles. As the hotel is located in the city centre, the rooms do not have sea-views, although some come with private terraces or balconies, but they do all have air-conditioning/heating. The hotel has a restaurant on-site that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Fuengirola Beach for September
Fuengirola has several options for the beach, as there is an eight kilometer (5 mile) area of sand used just for beaches. Perhaps the best known beach is Los Boliches. The water off of this beach is calm and the sand is of a fine, dark variety. There are also plenty of necessary amenities, like showers and beach chairs.
The beach is quite large (1,550 meters/5085 feet in length and 40-50 meters/131-164 feet in width) and can be enjoyable for a nice stroll. Centrally located, there are plenty of restaurants nearby as well, such as Café Fresco. This café offers organic food and salads, as well as fresh juices, soups, desserts, and coffees. They serve breakfast and lunch and are open until 4 PM every day except Sundays. For a quick drink nearby, checkout Tom's Irish Bar. They focus on serving pints (as the name would suggest) and also are a good spot for checking out live sports.
Bars and Restaurants
If you'd prefer food that is a bit less "local," try Taxi-Angus Burger. This restaurant specializes in American style hamburgers made from 100% beef and are usually accompanied by fries cooked in a few different manners. The décor is familiar to a place you would find in Southern California, with a kind of "diner" feel to it. Be sure to save room for dessert as they also serve milkshakes, cakes, and cookies. They are located about a five minute walk from the city centre.
Things to do in Fuengirola in September
Have you ever wanted to experience what it's like to fly? If you have, check out Jet Water Sports. They offer a "water jet powered board" which the rider stands on and it propels them up to 12 meters above the water. They also offer almost every other kind of water apparatus for water sports, such as water skis, wake boards, knee boards, and tube riding. Jet Water Sports is located in Fuengirola's port, which is about a 12 minute walk from the city centre.
A great way to see a different part of Fuengirola is to go mountain biking. Total Mountain Bike offers single daytrips, long weekend trips, and week-long trips, each for a different cost, with housing included in the overnight trips. The rides go through Mijas and its surrounding country side, and trips can be catered to the experience level of your group. Guides speak both Spanish and English and provide coaching and safety instructions before the rides begin.
