This place attracts a mature crowd and you'll find everything from mojitos to cosmopolitans at reasonable prices, there's a focus on gin and whisky so you're laughing if you love a G&T. The view isn't too shoddy either, you can watch boats pass in the marina while the sun sets.
If you are looking for a more modern, upscale take on food in Faro, give Faz Gostos a try. Faz Gostos is located in Old Town, Faro. For dinner there is a tasting menu, which is excellent value consisting of a starter, fish, sorbet, magret de canard, and dessert for around 35. There is a lunch menu called the executive menu that includes options such as a pork cheek dish and tuna steak priced at 15. The wine list is extensive with prices for every budget. The atmosphere is more suited towards a special occasion or for those looking for a bit of a treat.
Things to do in Faro in June
Music lovers should head to the Faro Archaeological Museum to see the Recital de Guitarra Portuguesa. Located in the Old Town, this live recital is an intimate experience that has been highly rated. The recital begins with a history of the Fado music and guitar, otherwise known is the Portuguese guitar. You are then treated to a wonderful performance by João Cuña. Entrance to the museum is 5 and includes the recital in admission.
A visit to the resort is incomplete without a stroll down Rua Dr. Francisco Gomes. This main street in the Old Town is known for its large choice of shops, restaurants, and bars. As you explore the cobbled pedestrian street and admire the historic buildings you will no doubt feel transported to the past.
