Located in the Costa Brava region of Spain; Estartit enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild rainy winters. The pleasant climate throughout the town ensures a pleasurable vacation all year round.
With thanks to the ever lasting wonderful climate, this part of the Costa Brava is home to one of Britainâs most favourable holiday destinations. Even though Estartit is located on one of the cooler shorelines of the Spanish region, it still boasts year round sun with long hot summers and comparatively short mild winters.
Estartit is located in quite close proximity to the mountains and because of this the typical weather can be rather varied, seeing numerous strong winds that blow in from behind the mountains. These winds will typically help keep the climates down in the summer but bring chilly breezes throughout the winter. The constant sunshine and mild temperatures create an enjoyable holiday for favourable outdoor activities.
The autumn season in Estartit is quite pleasing, releasing average climates a little higher than the spring. Temperatures from September through until November will see averages of around 16ºC; however September climates will commonly climb over 20ºC. Rainfall is at its heaviest throughout spring and autumn, receiving an average of 80mm per month throughout October and November.
In comparison to most other European cities, the wintertime is relatively warm. Yet, to Spanish standards the winters are rather cold. Climates from December to February average at 8ºC because of the icy winds that are constantly present from the mountains inland, can occasionally drop the temperatures to 2ºC. It is common for a hot spell near the end of February when the climate soars up to 15ºC. Rainfall throughout both summer and winter is very sporadic averaging anywhere between 45mm to 65mm throughout the whole of winter.
Very similar to autumn, spring is very pleasant period of time throughout the Estartit region. With May being the regions wettest month of the year, precipitation will average around 90mm near the end of the springtime. Climates during spring will leave visitors feeling fresh and vibrant will average temperatures reaching highs of 24ºC by the end of April.
With summer being Estartitâs highest and busiest time of the year, it also sees climates ascending rather high. Although never too hot because of the undying coastal and mountainous breezes, the region of Estartit will still promise high and enjoyable temperatures. Average temperatures will normally linger from 25ºC to 28ºC throughout all of summer, but will typically reach beyond 30ºC throughout July and August. Summer is also the driest season, while average precipitation levels hover below 40mm in July.
