December is one of the coldest months in El Gouna, Egypt, yet it is far from cold. Although the average low temperature is a chilly 11°C, the average high is a nice 22°C. The sea temperature is warmer than the land as it averages 24°C, and there is at last some rain although only 2 mm over the month, so it won't ruin anyone's holiday.
Visitors in December won't be enjoying Christmas, but instead Victory Day on the 23rd. It commemorates the 1973 Yom Kippur War between Israel and Arabic nations, including Egypt. This is an excellent example of witnessing Egypt's culture first-hand.
A good day out for visitors is to visit Dolphin World in Hurghada. It has been open since April 2011 and features walrus, dolphin and sea lion performances. Guests can also swim with the dolphins, which is one of the most popular items on bucket lists, so it is worth taking advantage of while you are there.
Sultan Bey Resort is a four-star hotel within a tropical garden.
