El Ein Sokhna in July is part of the dry season with zero possibility of any rainfall. Temperatures are warm and range from 22 to 35 degrees Celsius. Humidity is high at 59 percent and sunshine is at the highest 13 hours per day, leaving you with a lot of time to enjoy the great outdoors.
Located in Zaafarana, about 70 kilometres from El Ein Sokhna, is St Anthony's Monastery, which until today has retained the daily rituals that have been observed for 16 centuries. St Anthony's Church is the oldest of the five churches in the monastery that resembles a village. The wall paintings and icons in the church are very interesting. Climb up to the Cave of St Anthony and enjoy views of the Red Sea, as well as the place where St Anthony lived the last 25 years of his life.
St Anthony and St Paul Monastery are the oldest Christian monasteries dating back to 4 AD. The monastery of St Paul can be reached by hiking through cliffs and plateaus. It was believed to be in the same location as the cave where St Paul lived for 90 years. Other than the spiritual experience of visiting these monasteries, the view from the top is worth the walk.
Horizon El Wadi Hotel is located between the Red Sea and Galala Mountains and has its own private beach.
