Temperature

Dance Beach
Dance beach is a popular rocky beach with deep and clean waters just 200 metres from old town. It's not protected, so mainly for use by experienced swimmers and not children. At Dance you can try your hand at water polo. The national polo club Jug train at Dance and perform World and Olympic championships.
Bars and Restaurants
Kamenice
Kamenice (Gundulieva Poljana 8) is an affordable restaurant near the city centre, renowned for its black squid risotto and tasty anchovies. Diners seeking something classier could try Dundo Maroje (Kovačka bb) by the old harbour. Their menu features such highlights like shrimps in saffron and homemade gnocchi with gorgonzola.
Rozarij
Rozarij (Prijeko 2) has cultivated a faithful local clientele steadily over the years due to its traditional preparations of seafood. Enjoy delicious dishes such as fish soup, and shrimp with white risotto. After your meal enjoy a digestif outdoors in one of the surrounding sunny alleyways.
Ragusa 2
Ragusa 2 (12 Zamanjina) is an elegant choice for pasta and local cheeses. The restaurant has been run by the same family for more than 75 years. Tvojerna Sesame (Dante Alighieria bb) is worth a visit for the view as well as the food. The restaurant is situated in a 200 year old house surrounded by fragrant orange trees, and serves an array of dishes like ravioli, slow-cooked lamb, goats cheese soufflé with prosciutto.
Restaurant 360°
Perhaps most famous of all is 360 (Ulica od Puča 1), set up in a 17th century Baroque Palace. Its worth the splurge, with menu items such as veal tongue, roasted pigeon breast, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, suckling pig and deer marinated in red wine and herbs for 24 hours.

Dubrovnik Summer Festival
The Dubrovnik Summer Festival continues throughout August, featuring fine productions in theatre, music, opera and dance. Performances take place all over the city, from concert halls and open-air theatres, to beaches and bars.
If you have a few days in the city, you may consider taking a ferry to one of the islands in the Bay. Ferries operate quite frequently in the summertime, and trips to the islands of Korcula, Lokrum or Mljet National Park are well worth the day trip for their natural and historical attractions.
