Dubrovnik Beaches for April

St. Jacob Beach

April is the first real month of the year that you can truly enjoy a Croatian beach. Why not go to St. Jacob Beach? It's one of the more beautiful pebble beaches, situated in a small cove. From here you can jet-ski or kayak paddling or just relaxing on the beach.

President beach

President beach is located on the Babin Kuk peninsula .From here you have a great view of the Elaphite Islands and the island of Daksa. From here it's just a short walk to the popular Copacabana Beach and the naturist beach Cava.

Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan Beaches

If you're itching for an excursion, the beaches on the semi-wild islands of Kolocep, and Sipan are worth the ferry ride. Only about 45 minutes to an hour by boat, they have beautiful sandy beaches and Roman and medieval ruins.

Bars and Restaurants

In Spring, many restaurants hibernating for winter start to open their doors. During Spring, Dubrovnik's many taverns offer seafood platters with oysters and white wines from the nearby Peljesac peninsula.

360 degrees

Arguably the most famous of all is the glitzy 360 degrees, with its succulent and unmatched cuisine. The imaginative menu is sure to enchant: raw Adriatic langoustine, Istrian summer truffle, lemongrass biscuit to name just a few. Though not inexpensive, this restaurant is definitely a hot place to take your date or treat yourself with a splurge.

 

Things to do in Dubrovnik in April

Beginning in April, Dubrovnik opens up: the weather warms up considerably, and you can still enjoy the shops without being overrun by the crowds. Wander around the old city harbour, take in the sights and sounds of the 300-metre-long Stradun, or main street. Walk along Ploce, the picturesque stretch of coastline from Ploce gate, and view the beautiful Lokrum Island and rows of luxury hotels along the way.

Outside Activities

Due to the improved weather, you can partake in a range of outdoor activities, from hiking, to rock climbing, cycling and abseiling. The beautiful countryside outside of Dubrovnik has it all. 

Mount Srd

Take cable car up Mount Srd for its impressive views of the town and coast. A clear day will grant you views of up to 60 kilometres (37 miles) and ample photo opportunities. On the top of the mountain is also the intriguing Museum of Croatian War of Independence, located with Fort Imperial and worth a visit. Exhibits include documents, art, photographs, weapons, mines, and explosives. When you're done you can sample some Mediterranean fare with excellent views at the Restaurant Panorama, located at the upper cable car station.

Rent A Kayak

 Rent a kayak from the old port and enjoy 30-minute paddle to Lokrum. You can go alone but guides also offer 3-hour kayak tours to the isle's lovely Betina beach. The exotic botanical garden there also makes for a great afternoon of exploration. You can also take a ferry ride out to the Elaphiti Islands for plenty of places to swim, fish or relax.

Lapad and Babin Kuk Peninsula

Families will enjoy the areas of Lapad and Babin Kuk peninsula, situated outside the Old Town with plenty of room to stroll down promenades, enjoy ice cream and pizza or run around the sand and rock outcroppings. There are also facilities to rent bicycles and play minigolf or table tennis.
