Dubai Beaches in May

This time of year may be too hot for some people to sunbathe on the beach as temperatures can reach a sweltering 37°C. However, if you really want to top up your tan make sure to put on plenty of sun cream and stay cool by taking a regular dip in the sea and drinking plenty of water.

Wollongong Beach

otherwise known as 'Kite Beach' offers a long pristine stretch of sand and is a great place for sunbathing, as it is very quiet. As the name suggests this beach is also popular for water sports such as kite surfing.

Jumeirah Beach

Many of the beaches in Dubai are private and you have to pay to access them, however, Jumeirah Beach is one of the most popular and cheapest beaches in the area. This beach is 1km long and is great for sunbathing, swimming, beach volleyball, walking, or enjoying the stunning views of the world famous Burj Al Arab Hotel.

 

Things to do in Dubai in May

Dubai Creek

For travellers who aren't golf enthusiasts, head over to the Dubai Creek, which runs throughout the emirate, dividing it into two parts. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the banks, watching the loading and unloading of the traditional Arabic dhows. One end of the creek has become a wildlife sanctuary, providing homes for over 27,000 birds including flamingos.

Wild Wadi Water Park

To keep cool in the blistering heat make sure to visit this park situated next to the Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. This water park offers a number of adrenaline-fuelled rides for all ages including the Wipeout Flowrider and Juha's Dhow and Lagoon for the little ones.

Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain is the world's largest choreographed fountain system located on the Burj Khalifa Lake. This impressive project features over 600 lights and 25 coloured projectors, which shoot water up to 152m high.
