The weather in Djerba in February is much like January in terms of temperature. However you can feel a slight warming in the air showing that this is the last month that can truly be considered part of the winter season.

The average temperature of 14°C is enough to discard any thick clothing you need in most of Northern Europe at this time of the year, and opt for something a lot lighter instead.

But make sure you keep a light cardigan with you, especially in the evening, as some days the temperature can drop to an average low of 10°C, especially in the depths of night.

February is a good month to visit Djerba because the days are long and very bright. Sunshine can be seen for an average of 10 hours every day, so there is ample opportunity to explore the region. And with only a 1% chance of a cloudy day, there is very little chance of your view being hampered by the weather anywhere on the island.

Average peak temperatures commonly reach up to 18°C at this time of the year. And though February is still considered part of the rainy season, there is far less precipitation than in the wettest months of October, November and December. Instead, you can expect rain on approximately 6 days of the month in February. With a total of around 30mm of rainfall accumulating throughout the entire month.

Sea temperatures are also at their coldest during February. This means the water is approximately 14°C throughout the month. And with a slight off shore breeze adding to the chill factor, only the very bravest swimmers are going to take a dip. However, for those that enjoy their water sports on top of the surface, February is a great time to get out and get active.

Where to Stay

The Hotel Palace Royal Garden is the ideal place to stay for a little touch of luxury. The all-inclusive options ensure you don't have to worry about anything from the moment you arrive. A full range of facilities are available throughout the low season, including different pools, eating areas and a comprehensive schedule of entertainment. Service is second to none. And because the hotel is located directly on the beach, when the February weather does get warm, there's no better place to be.

Parc Djerba Explore Hotel is situated right inside Djerba Explore, which means you are never far away from the nearest crocodile. But with a swimming pool, plenty of beaches and a delicious restaurant onsite, you can have all the comforts you want with this out of the ordinary accommodation. All three different types of suites are fully air-conditioned and well presented. And as they are able to accommodation 2, 4 or 6 people, they are ideal for couples, single travellers and large families. The rooms are spacious, and the entertainments are varied. A stay at Parc Djerba Explore Hotel is not something you will ever forget.

When you want to get away from it all in Djerba, book a stay at Dar Elbidha.  This wonderful guesthouse is located away from the cities and the towns, so that even in peak season it offers incredible respite. And while Djerba is still relatively quiet in February, this area offers a wonderful feeling of solitude. The rooms are spacious and the food is delicious. Yet, with a car, you can be in the centre of the action in a matter of minutes. Enjoy a very warm welcome and a fantastic get away. Stay at Dar Elbidha once, and you will definitely want to return.

Things to Do

Jama Fadloud is a traditional mosque set in the beautiful town of Midoun, and a wonderful place to visit during any stay in Djerba. Even for those that don't venture inside, the architecture and authentic water recovery system are worth a visit in themselves. And when it comes to the views, they are simply out of this world. The Jama Fadloud is still used as a place of worship, so native customs of head covering and the removal of shoes must be observed for those permitted to enter the building. But the feeling of calm is felt all around. Combine a trip to Jama Fadloud with a trip to Midoun itself, which is full of activity on a daily basis. Or simply take your time to enjoy this sensational building.

Whether you are travelling to Djerba for a romantic getaway, or you just want to experience the exquisite sun set, take a trip to Phare de Taguermess in Midoun. This is an area protected by the military, so it is not possible to get too close to the lighthouse. But the view over the shore when the sun goes down really is something to behold. Wait for the full moon to come out behind the structure and the photo opportunity is award winning. It's the perfect way to finish any night in Djerba and make your holiday snaps something to be proud of.

Restaurants and Nightlife

La Cote de Boeuf is not the place to eat if you are visiting Djerba on a budget. But if you are willing to pay a little extra to enjoy the finest food, then a table booked here would never be wasted. Steaks and fillets are the speciality of the house, with each piece cooked to your exact specifications. But there are also a range of vegetarian and seafood options for those that would rather have something different. And it doesn't even matter if you want to enjoy their wonderful hospitality all night. Taxis are available when you want to go home, even if it's four in the morning.

Roughly translated جربة با means 'Djerba in the Night' a truly appropriate name for this very popular night club. Situated in the heart of Zone Touristique, this night club is absolutely heaving in the summer months, but in February there is still plenty of opportunity to have some fun. There are many theme nights and special offers to ensure there's always something new to see. And with the music pumping until the early hours of the next day, no one ever seems to want to go home.

Delicious tapas, sensational ice cream and mouth-watering cocktails are all on offer from Restaurant Neptune. And they are all served by the most welcoming staff. Even if you only want to pop in for a quick drink or just to enjoy their broad range of ice cream flavours, you will always find a friendly face here. You can even sit back and enjoy one of the many books they have for their guests to read. Or add a few of your own to the collection once you've finished with them. Specialities of the day will keep your taste buds going and mean that you can come back again and again and always enjoy something new.
