Disneyland Paris, originally Euro Disney, is the most visited attraction not only in France but the whole of Europe with around 12 million visitors annually.
Based in Marne-la-Vallée, 32km east of central Paris, it is made up of two theme parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, as well as several hotels, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, and a golf course. The resort enjoys a temperate climate with mild, pleasant weather all year round.
Disney loves its themed restaurants, and there is no shortage of them around the resort. Eat your way around the globe with everything from French cuisine to American food. There are places to go for full-on meal as well as enjoy snacks and desserts as you explore the resort. And of course all of the restaurants feature kids' menus, which include simpler, smaller versions of the food on offer.
French
When in Paris! Why not try some of the local food in these restaurants.
Seek out the Cinderella-themed Auberge De Cendrillon in Fantasyland for a magical feast. Join Cinderella's mouse friends Suzy and Perla in this French restaurant featuring three dining rooms, including the magnificent medieval banqueting hall, decorated to tell the Disney princess' story. Be sure to try the truffle-stuff quail with pear chutney.
Or, over in the Walt Disney Studio Park there's Restaurant des Stars in the Production Courtyard. This elegant Art Deco-style buffet restaurant plays homage to the film Ratatouille. Be on the lookout for a life-size Chef Rémy, who makes appearances throughout the day on a cheese trolley. While you're in the area, why not go see Stitch Live or Cinemagique.
German
The one and only German-style restaurant is King Ludwig's Castle in Disney Village. Enter this fairytale castle and you'll be served delicious Bavarian specialties. As you enjoy your feast fit for a king, you can see the history that first inspired Walt Disney to create his Sleeping Beauty Castle. Why not try the Spätzle du Prince Spätzle, grated emmental cheese, fried onions and garlic cream?
Italian
There are a handful of places to enjoy Italian food whether you want a romantic meal or a simple slice of pizza.
In Disneyland Park's Fantasyland there's Pizzeria Bella Notte, a quirky pizzeria inspired by Disney's Lady and the Tramp. Enjoy a pizza, pasta or salad in this restaurant decorated with sculptured columns and murals of the movie. You could even share a bowl of spaghetti bolognaise by the candlelight as in that classic scene.
You can enjoy a casual bite to eat at Discoveryland's Italian restaurant, Buzz Lightyear's Pizza Planet where 50s diner décor meets outer space. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat-buffet when you step into the world of Toy Story, complete with a giant rocket launcher full of three-eyed aliens.
Over in Adventureland there's Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost, where chattering parrots invite you to choose from a wide range of pizzas and pastas. Sit on the edge of a tropical forest, relax in front of the stone fireplace or enjoy the view from the veranda as you tuck into the Giant Fusilli Bolognese or the Pizza Royale. Finish with the delectable Tiramisu.
If you stay at Disney's Hotel New York, the Manhattan Restaurant with its blend of American and Italian cuisine will be right on your doorstep. Start with the Little Italy platter and have the Grand Tortellone followed by pineapple carpaccio.
American
There is an abundance of restaurants with food from across the pond, since that's where it all began.
Learn about the man himself at Walt's: An American Restaurant on Main Street USA. Enjoy lunch in this authentic American restaurant dedicated to the life and the works of Walt Disney. Sink your teeth into Walt's Gourmet Burger served with waffle fries.
If you fancy diner-style grub, head to Annette's Diner in Disney Village, a tribute to America of the 50s with servers on roller-skates. Enjoy a Hippy Hippy Shake and a cheese burger as you hum along to pop classics. If you come between 10am and 1pm you can enjoy Annette's American Breakfast your typical full English but with the addition of two maple syrup pancakes!
Or there's Cafe des Cascadeurs located in Walt Disney Studio Park's Back Lot. It's a gleaming 50s-style aluminium diner is based on the Airstream caravans used by stuntmen in their lunch breaks. Why not try the cheddar hot dog as soak up the vibe of this authentic American eatery? After your food's fully gone down, take a ride on the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster.
If you want a full-on meat feast, head for Silver Spur Steakhouse in Disneyland Park's Frontierland, modelled on Western-style Gentleman's Club. Relax in the elegant surroundings as chefs char-grill fillet and rump steak in front of you. Spoil yourself with a tender steak or fillet of beef cooked just how you like it. After your food's gone down you could brave the nearby Phantom Manor.
Or in Disney Village there's The Steakhouse, a high-class eating joint housed within a converted Chicago warehouse from the 1960s. Come prepared with an extra-large appetite and sample one of their premium steaks or a Kobe beef burger. Why not go for Sunday Brunch with the Disney characters between 12 noon and 3pm, which includes a glass of champagne for adults and a fruit juice cocktail for kids.
Mediterranean
For more exotic tastes, try either of these eateries in the Disneyland Park.
At the entrance to Adventureland is Agrabah Cafe where you can enjoy the delights of a Mediterranean meets Oriental buffet in an exotic One Thousand and One Nights setting. Or, Inside Adventureland there's Hakuna Matata, an oasis of peace named after the Lion King song which means 'no worries'. Get your teeth around the Kebab Sandwich or Lightly Spicy Chicken Strips with Hakuna Fries.
International
If you just can't decide what you want, and would rather have a bit of everything, try one of these.
In the Disney Village you'll find Cafe Mickey where you can enjoy a meal with your favourite Disney characters. From breakfast right through to your evening meal of international cuisine and pizzas you can meet Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and their friends.
At the Rainforest Cafe you can enjoy colourful dishes with exotic flavours in the lush, tropical forest. You'll be surrounded by wild animals, waterfalls, exotic fish and even storms as you enjoy everything from curries to fajitas.
If you happen to be staying in the Disneyland Hotel, why not pop to Inventions? Enjoy an amazing selection at this international buffet restaurant devoted to the inventions of the early 20th Century, complete with authentic objects dangling from the ceiling. Disney characters will be on hand to sign autographs.
Seafood
If you're a fan of 'fruits de mer', check out these seafood restaurants around the resort.
Seek out the Blue Lagoon Restaurant for exotic fish specialities and Creole cooking, right inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. This waterside restaurant allows you to dine under the tropical moonlight among lush foliage and white sand, with a charming view of the lagoon. Try the grilled swordfish with West Indian sauce.
For traditional fish and chips from Blighty, stop off at Toad Hall Restaurant in Fantasyland. Serving up traditional British dishes, this restaurant is modelled on the stately home of Mr J Thaddeus Toad from The Wind in the Willows.
At the Yacht Club in Disney's Newport Bay Club you can chill out in the exclusive atmosphere of a private yacht club, complete with nautical decor. Waiters and waitresses in sailor's attire will serve you the finest delicacies. Why not order the roast salmon and squid accompanied by vegetable tagliatelle and lobster sauce? Children can enjoy all their favourite dishes at a buffet designed especially for them.
Sandwiches and snacks
If you're exploring the resort during the day and are in need of a quick sandwich or light bite, look to further.
On Main Street USA there's the Market House Deli, an old-fashioned New York-style deli counter where you can grab a chicken and sun-dried tomato baguette or grilled vegetable sandwich.
Similarly, over in the Disney Village there's New York Style Sandwiches with a selection of hot and cold sandwiches, baguettes, paninis and salads available to eat in or take away. Or there's Earl of Sandwich serving 'the best hot sandwiches in the world' delicious hot bread and a scrumptious assortment of meat, cheese and vegetables.
Desserts
For all those with a sweet tooth, make your way to these cookie, cake and ice cream places in Disneyland Park.
On Main Street USA you'll find Cookie Kitchen with a range of cookies, cakes and pastries. Step back into old-time San Francisco and treat yourself to sweet snack.
Ice cream lovers will savour a trip to The Gibson Girl Ice Cream. Enjoy Ben and Jerry's ice-cream in a freshly-baked cone and choose from a mouth-watering selection of sauces and garnishes. Alternatively you could go for a sundae, crepe or waffle. Or there's The Ice Cream Company with a vast selection of ice creams, sorbets and crepes.
Fantasia Gelati in Fantasyland is a paradise for ice cream fans with everything from raspberry to rum and raisin, or you can get a crepe topped with sugar or Nutella.
