July is the height of summer in Disneyland Paris, France, and therefore experiences some of the hottest weather of the year. The temperatures soar to sizzling heights and there is the most sunshine seen all year during this month. Be sure to wear sun cream whilst you stand in line for your favourite rides, though, as the sun's rays can be strong. Another advantage of these high temperatures and the high amount of sunshine is that you will dry off quickly after a dunking on one of the water rides.
The average day temperature in July is 20°C, which is the annual maximum, a record that is shared with August. The hottest period of the year is around the end of July and the beginning of August. July has, however, the highest daytime averages, as well as the highest nighttime averages. In the afternoon, the mercury ranges around 23°C, while the night temperature averages 15°C. Both highs and lows increase in the course of the month, toward the highest temperatures of the year at the end of July. The daytime highs increase from 23°C to 25°C and the nighttime lows rise from 14°C to 15°C.
Not only is it the warmest month of the year; it is also the sunniest. There are 8 sunshine hours per day on average, an annual maximum that is also recorded in June. The reasons behind this much sunshine are the low cloud cover and long days.
After August, July is one of the two clearest months of the year. Cloud cover decreases from 54% to 49% in the course of the month. Additionally, this is also one of the brightest months of the year, second only after June. However, the length of the days does decrease throughout the month, from 16.04 daylight hours on July 1 to 15.07 hours of daylight on July 31. This means that every July day is 1.9 minutes shorter than the previous one.
Considering the total amount of rainfall, July is the second wettest month of the whole year, again after August. It receives 59mm of rainfall over a 12-day period. This, however, does not mean that it rains all the time, so plan ahead and take a look at the weather forecast. Rainfall in July occurs as brief but heavy rain showers, usually in the afternoon or evening, after which it gets sunny again. The chance that you will experience rainfall varies very little throughout the month and averages 43%. The two most common types of precipitation are moderate rain and thunderstorms. They are observed on 58% and 30% of the days with rainfall respectively.
