August is the second month of the high season in Disneyland Paris, France. The peak weather of summer continues and temperatures remain at their highest. The days in August are long, hot and sunny, so queuing for the rides at one of the busiest times of the year at the resort is much more bearable. Be sure to cover up with sun cream though, as the sun's strong rays can burn easily and that's a sure way to dampen the holiday spirit.
The average day temperature is still at 20°C, which it also was in July. This is the absolute high temperature of the entire yearhe third and fourth warmest months, June and September, have a daily average of 17°C. The afternoon temperature in August averages 24°C, while the nighttime temperature ranges around 14°C, both temperatures that are one degree colder than they were in August. However, the first days of August are the warmest of the entire year. August 6 is historically the warmest day of the year. In the course of the month, both the average highs and lows decrease slightly, respectively from 25°C to 23°C and from 15°C to 13°C.
August is the least cloudy month of the whole year with an average cloud cover of 48%. The length of the days decreases in the course of the month. August 1 is the longest day with 15.04 hours of daylight, while August 31 is the shortest with 13.28 daylight hours, a day-to-day decrease of 3.1 minutes.
Although the skies are at their clearest, the shortening of the days results in one hour less sunshine per day in August than in July. A day in August has 7 sunshine hours on average. The same amount is recorded in May, while June and July are the sunniest months of the year.
August is the wettest month of the year and receives 64mm of precipitation. There are 13 days of rainfall so it might be a good idea to take a look at the weather forecast to plan your adventure. Because this is also the month with the least cloud cover, we can assume that rain showers tend to be short, but heavy. They don't last long and sunshine quickly follows a spell of rain. In August, you can expect essentially two types of precipitation: moderate rain and thunderstorms. They occur respectively on 62% and 25% of the days with rainfall. Light rain may happen as well, but only on 10% of the rainy days.
Disney's Hotel Cheyenne is a wonderful Wild West-themed hotel located a 20-minute walk from the park's gates. It actually looks like a small frontier town in the American West, complete with a general store, saloon and horse-drawn carriages. Even the rooms are Western-styledhe kids will absolutely love it. Food and drinks can be enjoyed in the Chuck Wagon Café and the Red Garter Saloon; other amenities include a boutique general store, indoor play area, the Nevada games room, and pony rides (what else!).
Sticking with the Wild West theme of the hotel above, the Silver Spur Steakhouse is designed like an old-west restaurant that would have been frequented by rich cattle ranchers. This wooden establishment with its leather couches is reminiscent of the lively days of the American West in the 1800s. The food matches the setting perfectlyhe restaurant's menu is made up of T-bone steaks, spare ribs, pork chops, chicken breasts and hamburger. Fish, pastas and a variety of starters complete the menu.
The Fuento del Oro Restaurant in Frontierland also commemorates the Wild West, but in a very different way. This one is decorated with colourful Mexican murals and serves typical Mexican dishes, such as quesadillas, fajitas, tacos and chili.
As August sees the summer season continue at the resort, expect an array of special parades, events and festivities that are subject to annual changes.
Children and adults alike will have a great time in Fantasyland, one of Disneyland Paris' five themed lands. Fantasyland features rides and attractions based on classic Disney movies and charactershe ultimate place to visit in this park. This is where you will find the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, the park's premier landmark, and numerous other attractions. Examples are Alice's Curious Labyrinth, It's A Small World and Le Pays des Contes de Fées. This land is really what Disneyland is all about. Particularly the award-winning nighttime laser show and fireworks above and around the Castle are a major highlight. There are also a few notable eating venues in Fantasyland: Toad Hall, Auberge de Cendrillon and Pizzeria Bella Notte.
The warm weather means getting a bit wet won't be a problem for you in August, as you'll dry off in no time, so why not take advantage of this and try out Disney's water rides, including the famous Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
