Dalaman Beach for January
A great beach to visit is Iztuzu Beach near Dalyan. It is on a narrow piece of land which forms a barrier between the Mediterranean and the Dalyan River. It is one of the main breeding grounds for caretta caretta sea turtles which has helped establish the beach's nickname "Turtle Beach". The beach was actually once planned to be built up for tourism, but because of the breeding ground, it was labelled as a Special Environmental Protection Area and has had this status since 1988. With the tourist season yet to arrive, take your time and explore the caretta caretta sea turtles natural habitat. The sand is said to be extremely soft making it perfect for a stroll. There are lounge chairs, a café, and facilities available at this beach. One other option is to check out the Sea Turtle Research Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre on the southern end of the beach.

If you are looking for something unique, try the Dalyan Iz Garden Café in Dalyan. Dalyan Iz is an art gallery that was created because of the lack of galleries in the area that reflected Turkish culture and traditions at an affordable price. Things to do in Dalaman in January
Take advantage of no crowds and make the drive to Babadag, located in Oludeniz, for a tandem paraglide flight. Sky Sports Paragliding offers tandem flights at one of the best paragliding sites in Europe. They have flown passengers from ages 4 to 84, but have a weight restriction of 17 stone and make exceptions depending on your level of fitness. The cost is 250L and includes full insurance coverage of 1 mil EUR. Each flight is a minimum of 25 minutes, in great conditions your flight will last up to 45 minutes. January is out of season for Sky Sports and requires an email for a reservation.
Make the trek to Hisaronu to catch the comedy variety show Talk of the Town. A great night out for adults and possibly children as there is no swearing or foul play.
