July and August are the hottest months of the year in Dahab. During July, temperatures reach an average maximum of 38 degrees and fall to an average overnight minimum of 27 degrees. Although low humidity and light breezes help to reduce the discomfort caused by the heat. Sea temperatures rise to an average of 28 degrees during July which makes diving and snorkeling particularly attractive at this time of year. Rainfall is extremely rare, with no rain at all during an average July. There is an average of 13 hours of bright sunshine per day.

The fasting season of Ramadan typically runs during late July and into early August in Dahab, so for holidaymakers who do not observe Ramadan, it may be advisable to go during early rather than late July.

July and August are usually the windiest months of the year which make this a good time of year to try out windsurfing or even kite-surfing if you can deal with the heat. The Eel Garden offers ample facilities for divers, including snorkeling, kite-surfing, and scuba diving, and nearby high-quality Egyptian cuisine is available at the Eel Garden Stars Restaurant. Diving and kite-surfing can also be attempted at the nearby Lagoona region.

Good accommodation and dining facilities near the Eel Garden include the Eldorado Lodge & Restaurant and the Mirage Village Hotel.
