During April temperatures in Dahab rise significantly, with an average daytime maximum of 30 degrees, and an average overnight minimum of 20 degrees. Despite the rising temperatures, there is still a lot of local entertainment available during April. Sea temperatures average 22 degrees. A typical April is very dry with only one day with rainfall, producing an average of 2mm per April. There is a daily average of 12 hours of bright sunshine.
The annual Dahab Festival runs during April. Bands and concerts regularly turn up at the festival and provide a variety of musical entertainment, and the festival includes a 5-day windsurfing event. Most days include activities such as scuba diving, free-diving, kite-surfing, yoga and camel races. In some years Dahab stages an off-shoot known as the Bedouin Festival which includes camel excursions into the desert, talks about history and culture, music from Bedouin and a market.
Wadi Climbing offers excellent rock climbing facilities, and April provides the last opportunity of the season to get involved as it only runs from October to April. The area has numerous sport routes available for climbers ranging from novices to experts, and roping areas. Permits to go rock climbing in the area can be obtained from Desert Divers, who also offer accommodation, diving, free-diving and camel safari excursions. Alternatively, good B&B accommodation is available near to Desert Divers at Dive Urge.
