Las Cucharas Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the area of Costa Teguise. This 640m long beach offers clean golden sand to sink your toes into and crystal clear waters that are perfect for swimming at this time of year. This is also a popular spot for windsurfers due to the slightly stronger winds in this corner of the island.
Another beach worth spending the day at is Eljabillo Beach. This also is a windy beach, however, it is slightly more sheltered from the sea currents and offers over 150m of fine white sand. The beach also features a wide boardwalk making it accessible to everyone and the surrounding area is complete with restaurants, cafes, hotels and more.
Bars and Restaurants
Prado Verde offers varied international cuisine in the centre of the town. There really is a wide menu choice, although perhaps the most impressive is the two person kebab sharer, where a selection of meats and fish are brought to the table on tall metal skewers. The restaurant was established in the 1980s when Costa Teguise was first developed, so the interior may be a little dated, but the outdoor terrace is more modern and very lively on warm days.
Casa de la Playa is an affordable seafood restaurant situated by Arrieta Beach. This is the perfect place to go to in the evening or for a spot of lunch. Menu del dia is one of the most popular dishes on the menu, which includes three different types of freshly grilled fish with salad, bread, potatoes and dips to accompany the meal.
Oscar's is an international restaurant located in Costa Teguise. They serve anything from Caesar salads to steak and chips to appeal to all tastes. A bonus about this place is that it is very family friendly, there an ideal place to take the kids if you are staying here for the Easter holidays.
The Star is a family friendly bar located in the heart of Costa Teguise and even boasts its very own bouncy castle! On certain nights of the week The Star Bar also shows live sports such as the Premier League and the Champions League by the bar.
Things to do in Costa Teguise in April
If it's a nice evening make sure to go for a stroll along the Costa Teguise promenade and stop off at Pueblo Marinero square. Every Friday evening of the year from approximately 6pm the square comes alive with a market selling a variety of souvenirs, clothes and decorations. There are also a number of restaurants and cafes in the area where you can catch a drink and a spot of tapas.
As the sea temperature is starting to warm up at this time of year why not take advantage of one of the many water sports on offer in the area. Pro Center Antxon Otaegui offers courses in windsurfing for all ages and abilities. However, if you consider yourself a more experienced windsurfer you can also hire out a board too.
Raven's Volcano (Volcan del Cuevo) is one of the island's most popular attractions mainly down to its dramatic landscape. The volcano is easily accessibly by foot, there is also a small car park close to the volcano which is useful if you have hired out a car for the duration of your stay. Make sure to bring plenty of water with you, some walking shoes and sun cream as it can get very hot here!

It's not just for professionals, and holiday makers, either individuals or groups, are invited to take part for a £16 entrance fee. The first three finishers in both the single and group categories will be rewarded with a trophy at the awards ceremony.
Easter Sunday is celebrated on April 5th in 2015. There are no major churches in Costa Teguise, however, if you head to Arrecife you will find San Gines Church which will host special services throughout Easter to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In 2014 the Volcano Triathlon was back with a bang and no doubt it will be back for 2015. This endurance race is open to people of all ages and includes a 1.5k swim, 40k bike ride and a final 10k run! So it definitely is not for the faint-hearted. The route will pass Famara, Caleta de Caballo and finish at the Club La Santa Stadium.
