Costa Del Sol Hotels in September

Located on the main Torremolinos promenade, the renovated Hotel Isabel stands out in terms of accommodation as being a high quality, friendly place to stay. The staff will take care of every minute detail, and the hotel offers 70 bright, clean rooms that have been decorated with great care and attention. Hotel Isabel is so well-liked it recently obtained the Q of quality certificate from the ICTE (Institute of Spanish Tourism Quality).

Los Amigos Beach Club is a great choice for families. While the accommodation itself is of good, but modest standard, there are plenty of excellent facilities and activities to enjoy on site. There are stylish, clean indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a Jacuzzi. The attractive hotel gardens offer a perfect spot for sitting in the sun and reading your holiday blockbuster. If you're feeling active head to the on-site tennis courts and bowling green. Note: use of the beach club's Wi-Fi costs a pricey six euros a day.

Pierre & Vacances Residence Benalmadena Principe in Benalmadena offers super friendly staff and spacious, well designed apartments. Self-catering is the ideal choice of package to go for, and most rooms have a toaster, microwave, coffee maker, large fridge/freezer and even a washing machine ot that you probably fancy doing your laundry while on holiday! Worth noting: the indoor swimming pool is not accessible to children and the main pool is only open at limited times during the year. September usually signals the end of the pool season before it shuts for the autumn and winter months.

Debambu in Malaga is another good pick. These new apartments have been designed to a top standard and provide plenty of home comforts; they include a small kitchen perfect for making your own cheap and cheerful continental breakfasts. Simple, clean and modern at great rates best describes this place. The location is nice and quiet, too, so you should be sure of a good night's sleep here.

H10 Estepona Palace is directly on the beach in an ideal seafront position, just 800 meters away from the marina. The perfect hotel for families, friends and couples to stay. It's just 2 miles to the exact centre of Estepona where charm and cobbled streets are mixed with fabulous facilities. Tourists and locals love this area on Costa Del Sol.

Or do a bit of steep walking and head for the bed and breakfast resort in Velez-Malaga called El Patio Andaluz. The B&B is large and welcoming with good, clean bright rooms. The three-storey mansion reflects the history of the times in the area, and with a patio, swimming pool and sizeable living room, guests are well catered for.

Costa Del Sol Beach for September

Playa de Fuengirola beach sits in delightfully between Santa Amalia and Los Boliches beaches. Near the historic Fuengirola castle, it attracts visitors throughout the year, mainly for the tremendous views around it.

The Caravajal Beach in Benalmadena is located at the quiet end of a town that always seems to be about the hustle and bustle. There are some good restaurants within walking distance, and it is a good, clean beach for the kids who will find plenty of activities to do.

Bars and Restaurants

Situated in Plaza Ole, Erase Una Vez restaurant is only 50 metres from the nearby Benalmadena beaches. It serves high quality local Spanish food and Mediterranean dishes at reasonable prices. The selection of Spanish wines can't be faulted and the service is warm and welcoming.

Another excellent restaurant is the American themed Yanx Marbella restaurant. However, this is arguably a better lunchtime alternative than an evening restaurant. The homemade burgers lead the way for tasty afternoon fillers, and the great service from the staff ensures for a quick and pain-free pit-stop. One piece of advice - Yanx Marbella gets very busy on Saturday mornings due to its location near Marbella market.

Shamrock Irish Pub in Benalmadena is within walking distance to the Las Arenas hotel. Leading brands of beer, wine and spirits are the order of the day here, with Guinness and Murphy's Red available on tap. Major sports like football, golf and rugby union are always shown live on the big TV screens.

One of the best places to enjoy a few drinks in terms of atmosphere is Velvet Club in Malaga. The prices are amazingly low for drinks, and Wednesday night sees an electronic music takeover by a top DJ. The locals will enjoy the Spanish music often played after midnight, which gives an authentic feel to proceedings, especially in comparison to other clubs within Malaga.

Things to do in the Costa Del Sol in September

It might lack the intense atmosphere of Barcelona's Nou Camp, or have the staggering capacity of the Bernabeu in Madrid, but La Rosaleda stadium is one of Spain's ever-growing football arenas. Home to La Liga side Malaga, the small ground offers an intimidating atmosphere to visiting teams who come and play Spain's beloved sport. The location of the stadium is in a busy area within the Costa del Sol capital, and will no doubt delight footie fans; local and foreign alike.

Put on your dancing shoes and head to Kelipe Centre de Arte Flamenco, which is open to anyone who wants to try out their best foot stamping and hip swirling skills. Based in Malaga, as well as teaching the art of flamenco dancing, this venue's objective is to promote the traditional values of flamenco through songs, performances and dance. Visit to enjoy a deeper understanding of the local culture, as well as to just let your hair down and enjoy trying out one of the world's most passionate and expressive dance forms.
