March marks the start of spring in Costa del Silencio, a resort town in southeastern Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands. While the winter season attracted many tourists escaping the cold weather in more northerly regions, spring is much quieter and ideal for people looking for a peaceful getaway in the off season. The weather is still spectaculart is great all-year round, for that matter.
March is characterised by plenty of sunshine. There are 7 hours of sunshine per day on average, the same number as in February, April and Octobert can be considered to be the annual daily average. The chance of experiencing a sunny day is 51%, while the chance of a cloudy day is much lower at merely 2%.
Because there aren't many clouds, rainfall is fairly low this time of year. March is the last month of the wetter part of the year, which started in November, although that statement needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Now, there is a total amount of rainfall of 15mm and there are 4 days with rainfall. April, for example, will have only 7mm of rainfall in total and 3 days with rainfall. 15mm is not high whatsoeverhis is arguably one of the driest destinations in any European country. The chance of rainfall is no more than 12%. If it does rain, it occurs as drizzle, moderate rain or light rain.
When it comes to temperatures, March is one degree warmer than the previous two mid-winter months. The average temperature is now 19°C. The average nighttime temperature is 15°C; the average afternoon temperature 22°C. These temperatures tend to increase gradually as the month progresses. The sea temperature is exactly the same as the air temperature this time of year9°C on average.

Things to Do
The south coast of Tenerife is lined with great attractions, beautiful sites and wonderful towns. A particularly interesting place to visit in Marchnd really any other months Loro Parque. Its name literally means "parrot park" in English, but there is much more to see and do than watching parrots fly around. It was, however, founded as an actual parrot park with 150 parrots living there, but it developed into something much bigger. Now, it is considered to be one of the best zoos in Europe and one of the top attractions in the Canary Islandsts visitor count stands at more than 40 million so far. Now, the animals that can be seen in the park range from sharks and piranhas, to gorillas and tigers, to sea lions, dolphins and alligators. The parrot show is still one of the star attractions in the park.
Speed fanatics might want to pay a visit to Karting Club de Tenerife. It lies about 3 kilometres from Costa del Silencio and can be reached with a convenient, free mini-bus service from many of the resort's hotels. The international-standard karting track is 1200 metres long, while the junior track measures 250 metres in length. Visitors can choose from 5 different kart models according to their age, experience and sense of adventure. People who aren't racing can relax at the cafeteria or bar, or see the racers fly around the track from the viewing platform.
Eating and Drinking Out
Guests of the Peking Garden Restaurant in Costa del Silencio tend to rave about the service, the size of the meals and the affordable price. As is the case in many Chinese restaurants, its menu is rather, almost overwhelmingly, extensive. You can choose to eat inside or at the outdoor terrace.
Restaurante Las Gangarras isn't exactly located in the bustling coastal towns, but instead is tucked away, almost hidden, in the inland village of Buzanada. If you are looking for authentic Canarian cuisine, as opposed to the tourist-oriented restaurants along the coast, this is it.
In Adeje, Restaurante Los Rocas is arguably one of the best places to go for sunset dinners in the area. Its outdoor dining terrace is a platform that overlooks the stunning coastline and the ocean at the southwestern tip of Tenerife. This fish and seafood restaurant specialises in Canarian cuisine.
