Temperature

Compared to the previous month of August, the average daily temperature for September in Costa Coleta drops about a degree to 24°C (about 75°F). The rain stays away for the most part, so with the warm weather, it's still a great time to visit the island of Fuerteventura. While there, you'll see a low temperature that averages about 21°C (around 70°F), which is still comfortable, especially for the evening hours.

The highs for this month go up to a lovely 27°C (about 81°F), warm enough to get outside and see the sights of the island. Short-sleeved shirts, shorts and capris will suffice for daytime clothing; consider bringing a light sweater for the evening hours when spending time outside.

Average Sunshine Hours

With 10 hours of sunshine on average per day, you'll still have plenty of time for exploring. On any given day during the month, you'll have a 69 percent chance of having a sunny day, so break out those sunglasses and hats. If you'll be spending extended time outside, you'll also want some sunscreen to protect your skin.

Rainfall

The rain chances and totals increase from those in August, with around 10mm of rain falling this month. The rain falls over only 1 day in the month on average, so when it does rain, it's usually a quick downpour and then it's done. Take advantage of the still-warm ocean water temperatures and jump in for a swim or try some watersports. The average sea temperature for this month is a warm 22°C (about 72°F) and the warm outside air will make getting out of the water feel good too.
