But that's not all the resort has to offer you'll also find a number of steak houses, Asian restaurants and tapas eateries available throughout the resort, ensuring there's something to please all tastes and budgets.

Local cuisine

Situated in San Eugenio Alto, El Rincon de la Abuela boasts an extensive Canarian menu specialising in fresh fish and seafood dishes. Thanks to its elevated location, this popular restaurant offers fantastic views across the resort stretching out to sea, which is reason enough to visit. There are menus available in several languages, including English, and the staff are more than happy to explain any dishes to you or make recommendations.

El Gourmet Canario specialises in Canarian cuisine, with an extensive menu full locally-sourced products. Diners can choose from starters such as mango gazpacho and mushroom risotto, followed by mains like tuna with pistachios and glazed veal steak. If you can't decide on one meal, opt for the six course tasting menu which features some of the restaurant's most popular options.

If you're in the mood to try something local, stop by Meson El Torito in Costa Adeje. This restaurant boasts a sophisticated, traditional atmosphere which is mirrored in the food. You'll find a wide variety of dishes to choose from, with items such as grilled king prawns, oxtail and roast lamb being amongst the most popular. There is also a number of homemade desserts available, including seasonal fruit, lemon sorbet with cava and chocolate volcano.

Offering diners the very best that Spain has to offer, Restaurante Embrujo boasts an extensive menu full of authentic dishes from all over the mainland and the islands, such as paella, Spanish omelette, grilled rabbit and stewed beef. To complement the vast array of dishes on offer, Restaurante Embrujo offers a large wine list, with many bottles from all over Spain and several from the rest of Europe. If that wasn't enough, the restaurant also hosts live music and a spectacular flamenco show every evening at 9pm.

Modern European

Just a short walk away from the Puerto Colon harbour, Carlos offers a fantastic selection of modern European dishes which have been inspired by cuisine from Portugal, Spain, Italy and France. Here you'll find a menu full of contemporary dishes, such as tagliatelle with salmon and prawns, chicken-stuffed peaches, espedata de Madeira and fruit kebabs, with a comprehensive wine list available to accompany your meal.

When it comes to modern European dining, Coeur de Filet is one of the best places to go. Established since 2003, this eatery creates dishes influenced by Italian, French and Spanish chefs, ensuring something to please everyone. Some of the most popular choices are the red beet Carpaccio with goat cheese, paupiettes of sole and venison fillet with a red wine reduction. There is also a great selection of homemade desserts available, including white chocolate mousse and walnut brownies.

Striving to provide diners with fresh, healthy and tasty cuisine, Restaurante La Nonna comes highly recommended by almost everyone. Here you'll find traditional Mediterranean food, with Italian, Greek, Spanish and French influences, resulting in a menu which is hard to beat. To accompany the food there is a large selection of international wines available, with some of Tenerife's most popular bottles.

Perfect for diners of all ages, Mario's Restaurante is great value for money and offers something to put a smile on the face of even the fussiest eater. This eatery boasts an extensive menu with dishes from all over Europe, many of which have been heavily influenced by Italy. Diners can opt for anything from homemade pizzas, calzones and pastas to grilled meats, fried fish and vegetarian options. Families dining with little ones will be pleased with the children's menu, which features a number of popular favourites, such as fish fingers and chicken nuggets, as well as smaller portions of items from the regular menu.

Azulón is a newly-opened trendy restaurant, specialising in modern European cuisine. Here you'll find an a la carte menu full of traditional international dishes, each with a unique modern twist which brings it straight into the 21st century. If you can't decide what to order, choose the current tasting menu which features around seven courses of the restaurant's best dishes. Not just a place for a meal out, Azulón also offers a number of gastronomic courses, including cooking for two, Japanese cuisine and the gin and tonic experience.

Open from 10.30am until midnight, Rosso Sul Mare in La Caleta offers a fantastic seafront setting, a stylish atmosphere and an extensive menu, with something for everyone. Although the food is predominantly Italian-influenced, there are many other contemporary European dishes on offer, including meat-, fish- and rice-based dishes, as well as plenty of salads, pastas and pizzas. If you've left room for dessert, you can choose from a number of sweets, such as ice cream, tiramisu, pannacotta and a variety of sorbets.

Tapas

Tapas is a traditional dish of the Canary Islands and not many do it better than Restaurante Sebastian. Located in Torviscas Bajo, this eatery offers an extensive menu, with meat- and fish-based dishes, pizzas and side orders available. The house speciality is certainly the tapas, which come in a variety of forms, including mixed cheese and meats, homemade pate, fried baby squid, spinach with chorizo and pear-filled ravioli.

Also found in Torviscas Bajo, Unique is one of the best places to go for tapas. This small open-air restaurant offers a number of menus available throughout the day, including a ciabatta and sandwiches menu, Dutch snack menu and stone grill menu. The tapas list provides you with plenty to choose from, including mixed olives, spicy chicken, meatballs in tomato sauce, Canarian sausages and croquettes, all for reasonable prices.

If you're in the mood for tapas, be sure to visit El Mesón Castellano in Playa de Las Americas. One of the most popular tapas restaurants in the area, El Mesón Castellano offers a wide array of hot and cold tapas, featuring meat and cheese platters, meatballs, garlic prawns and grilled sardines. There is also an a la carte menu available, including Canarian items such as suckling pig, lamb shoulder and grilled rabbit. 

Asian

By far one of the best Indian restaurants in Tenerife, Bombay Babu offers a vast array of authentic Indian starters, mains and desserts, each cooked to order. Diners can choose from bhajis, samosas, pakoras and kebabs to start, followed by more than 20 different curries for main courses. Each curry can be made with a variety of meat, fish and vegetables, as well as soy meat and paneer cheese, ensuring something to suit everyone.

If you're in the mood for some traditional Indian food, stop by Torviscas Tandoori Real Indian Restaurant. Each dish is cooked to order and the chef will happily add more chillies if you like it hot, or omit them completely if you're not a fan of heat. Here you'll find all your favourite curry-based dishes such as kormas, bhunas and tandooris, accompanied by the ever popular rice sides, naan bread and chapattis.

Sushi lovers won't want to miss the chance to dine at Sobo. This recently-opened Asian restaurant is found in one of the most prestigious parts of Costa Adeje and serves a selection of traditional and Californian sushi, homemade dim-sum and authentic dishes from Japan, China and Thailand. The friendly staff are happy to make recommendations and explain any dishes which you're unsure of.

Pub grub

When it comes to pub grub, it doesn't get much better than the dishes served at the Sun Inn. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this small restaurant offers a menu packed with popular British favourites, such as full-English breakfasts, filled baguettes, toasties, cottage pie, chicken tikka, battered fish and steaks with homemade sauces. There is also a great selection of affordable drinks available, including beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, cocktails and sangria.

The British-run Fosters is the perfect place to go for some home-cooked food and a cheap drink. This restaurant offers seating inside and outside, as well as a large menu full of options such as roast dinners, steak pie, lasagne, burgers and pizza. Behind the bar you'll find a top selection of beers, ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks available, all for affordable prices.

For a cheap and cheerful pub grub-style meal out, look no further than Winchester Bar. Here you'll find a comprehensive a la carte menu available, as well as a selection of children's options and a very reasonably priced three-course set menu which changes regularly. With such a vast selection of meals available including steaks, fajitas, BBQ ribs, roast dinners and pasta there's bound to be something for everyone.

Seafood

Seafood lovers won't want to miss the chance to spend an evening at Odissea Restaurant. Situated in Puerto Colon, this eatery offers a number of tempting fish dishes, including seared tuna steaks, fried calamari, grilled swordfish and garlic prawns. Not only a place for avid seafood fans, Odissea Restaurant also offers a selection of vegetarian and meat-based dishes which are sure to please everyone.

Las Rocas is a popular gourmet restaurant which specialises in Canarian fish and seafood dishes. The restaurant's cliff-top location awards diners with views of the Atlantic Ocean whilst they browse the menu, which includes hake, tuna, sea bass and catch of the day. Not just a place for seafood lovers, this eatery also serves meat- and poultry-based dishes, as well as salads and pastas.

Regarded as one of the very best seafood restaurants in Tenerife, La Vieja is a must-visit. Boasting a seafront location, this eatery serves freshly-caught fish and seafood, such as clams, king prawns, mussels, pollock and sea bream. You'll also find a small children's menu available, as well as several house specialities which are large enough to feed two people.

Masia del Mar is a top pick for those who want to indulge in freshly prepared seafood. Proudly boasting its very own fishing fleet, this restaurant employs fishermen who catch the seafood and fish which is then cooked in the restaurant on the same day. Found in the holiday resort of Fañabé, Gran Reserva is one of the longest established steak houses in Tenerife. Here you'll find a comprehensive menu full of Spanish, Canarian and Mediterranean dishes, with the house specialities being the various grilled meats, shoulder of lamb and suckling pig. To accompany each dish, there is a large selection of Spanish and Italian wines available.

The beachfront Monaco Steak House is the ideal place for carnivores in search of a top meal. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this restaurant is known for serving quality meals in generous-sized portions for affordable prices. The menu features tempting dishes such as butterflied chicken breast, oven-roasted pork and grilled steaks, all served with homemade sauces.
