June is the month when the Cork Midsummer Festival will be held beginning on the 21st until July 1st.  It is a multi-faceted celebration featuring local, national and international events in the realms of theatre, dance music, opera, visual arts and street arts.  There is also an extensive program of free events. 

The Cork Summer Show is held by the Munster Agricultural Society on from June 15th 17th.  Here you can enjoy everything from equine events to home and garden demonstrations.  A free shuttle service is provided to and from Curraheen greyhound track.

For those who enjoy sporting events, on June 2nd the Ocean to City Race will be held.  This is a 15 mile rowing race. The race begins at Crosshaven, continues through Cork Harbour and finishes on the River Lee at Lapps Quay in Cork City centre.
