What's the weather like in Colombo in September

In Colombo, the month of September is usually the beginning of the second rainy season and as such, there aren't very many tourists. This would be a great time to visit the city as one could easily tour the city freely and easily and take advantage of the low season rates.

September is a quiet month in Colombo. However, tourist should still look forward to the Colombo International book fair.

The event is usually held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall is meant to promote the reading culture in a country where more and more people are shunning books for electronic alternatives. 

It is usually the most prominent exhibition of the year in Colombo. 

Tourists will also be able to attend the FACETS Sri Lanka. This is an international jewellery and gem show, which has been held annually in Colombo since 1991. 

Every year the show has been growing in popularity as promoters live up to their promise of providing a better event than the previous year. 

The event, which lasts about three days, is a great opportunity for people to see how designers match jewellery with fashion. 

Tourists should also visit the Kelaniya temple during their stay in Colombo. The temple is about thirty minutes away from Colombo. It is situated on the Kelani River and is famous for all its beautiful sculptures and paintings.
