What's the weather like in Colombo in February

February is a beautiful month to visit Colombo. It falls right between its two rainy seasons and as such, the warm temperatures and low rainfall make it an ideal tourist destination.

Things to do in Colombo in February

Colombo generally has enough festivals to keep tourists entertained throughout the year. However, in February, the calendar is packed with plenty of activities and festivals that attract quite a number of foreigners. 

For starters, on February 4th, the nation celebrates its Independence. The day is celebrated with a number of carnival acts, dancers and elephant parades. 

Almost immediately after, the Nation hosts the Colombo fashion week, where hundreds of designers from all over Asia and is sure to attract a number of tourists who want to keep abreast with all the emerging trends. 

The Navam Perahera Festival is also celebrated in February. The festival is celebrated on the full moon (or Poya) day in February and is the most colourful festival in the year as it features thousands of dancers, monks and beautifully decorated elephants. 

Furthermore, car enthusiasts usually flock to Colombo In February to see the classic car rally, which starts at Colombo and ends at Watalla.
