Colombo is a city steeped in history and culture and there is plenty to see and do whilst you are there.

In April, tourists will be delighted to attenbeaxd the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival. This is one of the largest events in the Sri Lankan calendar as it signifies the end of the previous year and the beginning of a prosperous year.
Usually, the festival is held either on the 13th or the 14th of April and most people close up shop to celebrate.
During these days, the Sinhalese group of Sri Lankans will get together dressed in new clothes to partake in milk rice and traditional sweets. The clothes and sweets are specially made for the festival.
