October is the last chance to enjoy the Historique de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, which opened in February. This is a World War II museum commemorating the war itself and its effect on Calais, Europe, and the rest of the world.
The museum closes its doors from November to March so visitors should make every effort to see the exhibit if visiting during this narrow window of time.
Before temperatures drop any lower, nearby Dunkirk hosts its annual marathon. Visitors can make plans to enter the race as participants, or be on hand to cheer on the runners at the finish line of such an amazing race!
October's average temperature in Calais is 54°F (12.2°C).
The average low temperature is still a comfortable 50°F (10°C) although, technically, autumn has set in.
Calais has an average high temperature of 59°F (15°C) during October.
The precipitation is higher than in other months at 2.49" (63.4 mm), with rain on 13 of the month's days.
