Highs of up to 13°C are common throughout the month of January in Calahonda. However, whilst it can be very mild during the day, night time temperatures will often drop to 6°C or below. Therefore some form of heating is essential in any accommodation chosen during this period.

It is possible to experience some nice warm days in Calahonda in January with the highest ever temperature during the month recorded in January 2012, which peaked at a very warm 24°C. Sunshine Hours

An average of 8 hours of daily sunshine throughout the month ensure any night time chill is soon beaten away by the winter sun. And with only a 2% chance of a windy day in Calahonda, the air feels nice and still.

Sea Temperature

A cool sea temperature averaging 16°C means only the very bravest will be hitting the beach during January. However, this is still warmer than sea temperatures in the region during February which can reach a degree or two lower, dipping temporarily to an annual low.

Rainfall

There is a 25% chance of rain during January making it impossible to visit Calahonda during the period without seeing some precipitation. But while a total of 101mm of rain expected during the entire month makes Calahonda wetter than neighbouring resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola in January, the bad weather never seems to last for more than a day at a time.
