Weather like in Cala d'Or in June
Travellers looking for a laidback and relaxing holiday with great weather and just a short haul flight from the UK should look no further than Cala d'Or. Located on the east coast of Spain's Majorca, an island in the Balearics, this small town has a lively town centre with intimate bars and restaurants, and is just a short distance from the island's capital and party town, Palma.
Temperature
There are even more temperature increases in Cala d'Or in June as summer well and truly arrives in the resort. With temperatures ranging between a low of 16°C during the nights and a high of 27°C in the afternoons, be sure to pack shorts and swimsuits. These low and high temperatures increase in the course of the month, respectively from 12°C to 16°C and from 23°C to 27°C. The overall average day temperature in June is a warm 23°C, making it the third warmest month of the year after July and August.
Average Sea Temperature
The sea temperature also climbs above 20°C this month and now averages 21°C, which is a full four degrees more than it was in May.
Rainfall
Rainfall takes a dramatic dive during June as the dry summer season finally arrives. Just 13mm is about average for Cala d'Or this month, and there are only 5 days with precipitation, so it is a perfect time for getting out and enjoying the outdoors. June is, in fact, the second driest month of the entire year in the resort. The chance that precipitation occurs decreases from 22% in the beginning to 14% at the end of the month. Moderate rain is most likely to be experienced, with a chance of 36%. Thunderstorms, however, are a second close, at 27%. The two other types of rainfall that may occur in June are light rain and drizzle.
Average Sunshine Hours
As June is one of the resort's driest months, it is also one of the clearest. Cloud cover decreases from 34% to 25% in the course of the month, allowing for no less than 10 hours of sunshine per day on average. The same number is observed in August, while July, with 11 hours, will be the sunniest month of the year.
With these high temperatures, few raindrops and plenty of sunshine, but without the massive summer crowds, Cala d'Or in June is the perfect destination for a beach break.

Stay at the Inturotel Cala Azul Garden, about half a mile from the pedestrianised Cala d'Or centre. With affordable rooms, this is one of the less expensive options the Inturotel group has to offer in the area, but with 3 stars to its name it keeps up with its nearby sister properties. All rooms feature private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and great views. The hotel's swimming pool is surrounded by beautiful relaxing gardens. Beaches such as Cala Serena and Cala Ferrera are only a short walk away.
Beach in Cala d'Or for June
Cala Serena
A great beach in the resort is the Cala Serena, located just north of the town centre, near Cala Ferrera. Although it lies merely 300 metres north of the town, it is the one that is most removed from the centre. The beach is set in a little bay and there are no facilities, which gives it a very natural and authentic appearancehere are no bars, lifeguards or shops.
It is this natural aspect that makes Cala Serena a popular spot among diving centres. Here, visitors can try their hand at scuba diving at Michael's Diving School. There are a number of dive sites to suit all skill levels, including reefs, drop offs and a Roman stone quarry.

Cala d'Or International Jazz Festival
June sees the week-long Cala d'Or International Jazz Festival hit the town. The town can get rather crowded at this time of year, but it is well worth a visit, especially for music lovers. With Jazz bands from all over the world including Germany, the Netherlands, the USA and Cuba playing, it is truly entertainment at its best. Keep in mind, though, that sometimes the festival doesn't take placehis may happen whenever another, bigger event takes place (such as the FIFA World Cup in 2014). Check beforehand if the Jazz Festival is your main reason to visit the resort in June.
