Weather like in Cala d'Or in July

Cala d'Or, on the southeast coast of Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands in Spain, is often described as being a smaller version of the popular resort of Ibiza. It has the beaches, it has the water sports, it has the weather and it has the nightlife, but it is far more relaxed and quiet. This purpose built resort town was even modelled after the famous Spanish party town.

Temperature

Cala d'Or is definitely a warm and sunny resort during July. Temperatures are unlikely to drop below 18°C, even overnight, and reach an average high of 29°C in the hottest part of the day. The nighttime low and daytime high averages tend to rise in the course of the month. The low average increases from 16°C to 18°C, while the high average climbs from 27°C to 29°C. The end of July and the beginning of August is generally the hottest part of the year. The overall average temperature in July is 25°C, which makes it the second warmest month of the year.

Average Sea Temperature

The sea temperature, too, is high during this peak summer month and averages a comfortable 24°Che same as in September. The Mediterranean Sea is one degree warmer in August.

Rainfall

Beach lovers will be happy to hear that July is the driest month of the year in Cala d'Or. There is barely a cloud in the sky to spoil the midday sun, and just 9mm of rainfall is expected throughout the entire month. The number of days with rainfall is merely 3. The likelihood that it will rain ranges between 11% (the lowest chance in the whole year) and 14%. If it does rain, which is exceptional, it usually happens in the form of thunderstorms or moderate rain, respectively occurring on 38% and 30% of the days with precipitation.

Average Sunshine Hours

With a percentage of cloud cover of only 23%, July is also characterised by 11 hours of sunshine per day on average, the highest number of sunshine hours of any month. July is a glorious beach month.
