July is scorching hot in Cairo and extremely busy.
The average temperature now reaches a high of 34°C (that's about 93°F) during the day and never dips any lower than 22°C (about 72°F).
You can expect to experience no rain during this month and there are a whopping 13 hours of average daily sunshine.
With the intense heat it is advisable that you wear sunscreen with a high SPF and seek shelter from the sun during the hottest parts of the day. You can check the local weather forecast to find out when this is.
People that do not like heat or large crowds should perhaps avoid Cairo during the month of July.
Aside from the pyramids and sphinx outside Cairo, there are more sites to see within the city itself.
The Citadel, or Al-Qalaa, is an enormous fortress overlooking the city. There are excellent views across Cairo as well as a mosque, museum and palace standing on the site.
And a more modern sight is Cairo Tower. Completed in 1961, this 187m (614 ft) tower houses both interactive exhibits about Ancient Egypt and a restaurant situated right at its top.
