Playa Chileno

One of the area's more popular strips of sand, Chileno Beach can get crowded on the weekends. A reef that runs along the shore is home to a wide variety of marine life and thus a big draw for snorkelers and divers. Endangered sea turtles are often spotted in the waters. A marine sanctuary, Chileno doesn't allow motorized watercrafts so you can count on a more-serene beach scene.

Things to do in Cabo San Lucas in March

Surf at Lovers Beach

Why not learn to surf on your trip to Cabo San Lucas? From beginners to seasoned surfers, Lovers Beach is a great spot to catch some waves. Set at the edge of a peninsula where two oceans converge, you can surf the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez in one outing. The water is often chilly so it's a good idea to use a wetsuit.

See Historical Architecture

A short stroll from town square you can visit one of the oldest structures in Cabo San Lucas. The Parroquia San Lucas Evangelista was built by a Spanish missionary in 1730. While there has been some renovation over the centuries, the simple church is much like it was in the 16th century. Mass is still held there. Dress accordingly if you attend as there is no air conditioning.

Take a Fishing Charter

People from across the globe head to Cabo San Lucas to embark on fishing adventures. The warm waters where the Pacific and Sea of Cortez meet teem with an abundance of game fish. Set off on a charter to reel in tuna, wahoo, dorado and even the prized Black Marlin. Many of the area's hotels have freezers for your catches and restaurants will cook them to your liking.

Chill on Chileno Beach

If you've come to Cabo San Lucas to relax on the sand, Chileno Beach is the place for you. While it's popular and can get crowded on the weekend, there are a sufficient number of rental umbrellas and palapas to ensure you'll have a shady spot on the shore. Head there on a weekday to find fewer people and more room to enjoy the calm waters that are perfect for snorkelling.
