Playa Santa Maria

Santa María Beach is part of a marine sanctuary and so a great spot for snorkelling and swimming in waters that have an abundance of marine life. A protected bay also creates calm waters for swimming. You'll want to bring a camera as the pink sands and horseshoe-shaped terrain makes the beach picture perfect. While there are a few vendors, you won't find many food options so best you also bring something to snack on.

Traditional Mexican fare is served in a no-frills space with splashes of colour from bright tablecloths. Enjoy staples such as fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos and chile rellenos. Breakfast dishes come with a choice of five different chilaquiles. Healthy choices such as grilled chicken are available for lunch and Surf and Turf for two is a popular selection for dinner. La Taquiza

The abundance of locals at this colourful taco joint by the marina is a good indication that you're in for a tasty meal. Unlike the area's meat-centric taquerias, La Taquiza is famed for its seafood tacos. However, the massive menu that lines its facade also has spiced-pork tacos, Suadero-beef tacos and carne asada. If you're feeling adventurous, try the taco de cabeza -- made with beef cheeks and topped with onions. La Taquiza is open daily from 8 am to 2 am

Visit the Arch of Cabo San Lucas

You can take a trip to the iconic rock formation at the end of the peninsula. Known locally as El Arco, the arch is best visited by glass-bottom boat.
