Translating to "The Pilgrim", El Peregino welcomes travellers and locals alike. Prices are moderate at the bright and colourful bistro where you're apt to find a football match playing on the TV. Savour hearty meals of New York style steak, slow-cooked barbecued ribs and prime cuts of beef cooked Argentine style. Beyond a selection of seafood such as octopus in garlic butter, the menu has a good offering of American comfort favourites. El Peregrino is open daily from 1 pm to 10:30 pm.

Restaurant Campestre

A seven-minute drive from downtown, Restaurant Campestre is far from the restaurants most tourists visit. The family-run eatery is known for its affordable midday combos, serving a drink, salad and choice of entree known as fixed-price "comida corrida". You can also find budget dinner deals with sharing plates of chile rellenos, flautas and quesadillas. Restaurant Campestre is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 9 pm, 7:20 am to 2 pm on Sunday and closed on Saturday.

Shopping, dining, and entertainment lie under one roof at the Puerto Paraíso Shopping Mall. The modern marina complex has shops selling local artisan works, boutiques with designer clothing and a host of other stores. While the beach may be the biggest draw in Cabo San Lucas, don't forget about city exploration. The town is home to interesting colonial architecture and unique offerings. Watch artisans craft works at a glass-blowing factory. Visit a tequila boutique to learn how artisanal liberations are produced and sample some product. Check out a colonial church and grab a taco at a bustling sidewalk cafe.

Snorkel at Santa Maria Beach

Fishing is forbidden at Santa Maria Beach, making it a superb spot to strap on your snorkelling gear and get up close to tropical sea creatures. The marine sanctuary's calm waters are also a great spot to swim away from the busier beaches of Cabo San Lucas. With pink-hued sands and a horseshoe-shaped shoreline, the beach is also perfect for pictures.
