Brive la Gaillarde, France<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Brive la Gaillarde (sometimes shortened to just Brive) is a town in Central France, in the region of Limousin. It has four distinct seasons throughout the year, differentiated by temperature and climate. Brive tends to have rather mild and damp weather, with fairly warm, pleasant summers and cool winters. On the not-so-pleasant days, visitors can still explore the pretty French town, visiting its museums, art galleries and theatres.
Summer
The summer months in Brive are typically the hottest months of the year and temperatures reach up to around a hot and pleasant 28°C, so it may be a good idea to pack some sun cream with you during your holiday in Brive. The lowest summer temperatures tend to hang around a cool yet comfortable 13°C. Brive receives moderate rain throughout summer with up to 71 millimetres of precipitation spread out over 7 days of rain each month. Something to look forward to is la Festival de la V©z¨re, a music festival with recitals, choirs and orchestras, which takes place from mid July to mid August.
Autumn
Autumn is a fairly cold time of year with the lowest temperatures dropping to an average of a cool 8°C. As the season progresses, the higher temperatures go from around 21°C to a chilly 12°C. Autumn is the wettest season of the year for Brive la Gaillarde with around 242 millimetres of precipitation altogether. Each autumn month has an average of 9 rainy days, so it is probably a good idea to pack an umbrella and waterproof clothing with you and to check the weather forecast prior your arrival, so you have a clearer idea of what to expect.
Winter
Winter in Brive is the coldest season of the year with the lower temperatures hanging around a bitter cold 2°C and it is unlikely that the temperature will rise above a cool 12°C; so it really goes without saying to pack warm layers of clothing with you, especially if you visit during the winter months. December, January and February generally has around one day of snow each month. Brive receives much more rain than snow in the winter months however, with precipitation levels reaching up to around 61 millimetres of rainfall and 8 to 10 days of rain each month.
Spring
Spring is the time of year when the sun (thankfully) begins to come out more often and seems to shine that tiny bit brighter. The season starts with the highest temperatures hanging around a cool 15°C but, as springtime draws on, temperatures can reach up to around a warm and pleasant 20°C, making it easier for habitants and visitors of Brive alike to enjoy the weather and surroundings once more. As springtime brings along the blossoming of flowers and trees moderate rainfall is still a part of Brive, with up to 85 millimetres of precipitation in total. It is estimated that 9 to 11 days will undergo some rain in Brive during March, April and May, so it is rather frequent.
