As far as the UK's temperamental climate can be forecast, September sees the warm summer weather continue, though temperatures begin to decline from this month on.
The weather may be slightly wetter than the prime summer months of June and August, but September is generally considered the last month of summer and, as such, still sees an influx of tourists.
While the sun continues to shine, there are plenty outside attractions to take advantage of.
On warmer days, the beach is still a viable option. The pebbled coast is lined with plenty of amenities, including restaurants, cafes, stalls and bars and clubs when the sun goes down. Fortune of War is one bar on the seafront that allows you to take your drinks right out onto the beach and is open throughout the day, serving food.
Or, you can visit one of Brighton's 98 parks and gardens. The Royal Pavilion Gardens are picturesque and, if the weather turns, you can head inside the Royal Pavilion to explore the spectacular interior of the palace built for the Prince Regent.
Those who want to explore the shops will find plenty on offer in Brighton. As well as the Churchill Square shopping centre, which houses all the major high street names, there are also the Lanes. Here, visitors can find everything from boutique shops to flea markets. It's often where the best shopping can be found.
For those looking for accommodation on a budget, Umi Hotel may well be the best option. The hotel is conveniently located right on the seafront, close to much of the city's nightlife and minutes away from the main shopping centre too.
Premier Inn is another great option for those on a budget and is conveniently located right in the city centre.
