Kutai National Park

Equatorial Obelisk
If you're near Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan and known as "Equator City", in March, make sure not to miss the Equatorial Obelisk (also known as the Equator Monument and Tugu Khatulistiwa), especially on the 20th, the spring equinox, as you may witness a shadow-less sun. This phenomenon can be spotted again, on September 20th, the autumn equinox. This impressive monument is nearly 100 years old and can be visited daily, for free.
