Holiday in Flamingo Country Club, on Lake Tuzla, nr Bodrum
Review by: Jan
Weather
Very hot: 30 degrees
Holiday
We went to the Flamingo Country Club on Lake Tuzla in September and found the management had basically closed all the facilities as they thought it was end of season.
Every six or so apartments had their own pool; that was great as we were the only ones in it all week!
You can also use two other resorts nearby: Turquoise, which is lovely and can highly recommend the restaurant; and Royal Heights, which has an infinity pool and a beach, which is basically decking on two levels and a large jetty- this is lovely. It has a lift to take you down as it is a very steep walk otherwise.
Everywhere around these resorts is very steep to walk as the apartments are built into the side of a mountain, so if you are unable to walk very far, then DEFINITELY hire a car! There is a shuttle bus, which will transport you from one resort to another, but only goes every hour and finishes at 9pm in September. There is also the bus service (or Dolmus) to take you into Bodrum (6 TL- very cheap) but it is a bumpy ride to the main road.
Bodrum is a very busy area at all times but it is pleasant enough. Turkish people are lovely and will help in any way they can, but many of them do not speak English, or only very little.
Flamingo C C can be recommended but be mindful of the walking, but the views from the apartments is to die for.
Everything apart from fuel is cheap and their beer, EFES, is gorgeous. Oh and try Turkish food: gorgeous and tasty, and oh so cheap to eat out every night.
As the apartments are S/C, go to the Migros supermarket about one mile from Flamingo: it has everything you need and cheap. If you want milk, look in the fresh chilled foods area and look for a glass bottle with a plastic red top, I think it has pink writing on then back. Don't buy anything else other than this as it wont be milk as we know it in the UK! Their fresh bread is to die for.
Good luck and enjoy Turkey for the country it is.Recommend Bodrum to others?

BODRUM 2009 & 2010
Review by: G Winthrop
Weather
We have been to Bodrum both times in August now.Temperature on some days can reach 33c -if you have small children its best to find shade during midday as it can get too hot.
Overall daytimes are clear : no rain and in the evening the temperature can drop but you don't have to wear extra clothing.
If you are staying in central Bodrum you may get a breeze from the sea and if staying on outskirts which is mostly uphill from sea front you will also feel a breeze on occasions too.
If going on a trip or journey from Bodrum it is adviseable to take plenty water with you as the heat can be quite overwhelming.Holiday
Bodrum is a vibrant place to visit-there are lots of hussly bussly streets selling everything from Turkish lamps right down to designer copies.
People are very friendly and love to make a fuss of children.Be firm when asked to buy something or you will just keep getting asked again and again.
You must barter!
They enjoy you doing this-offer half of what they have asked then work your way up to an agreed price!
There is food from all over the world and you can find a restaurant to suit every budget.
The sea front restaurants tend to be far more expensive than others so be careful as you may end up paying far more than you expected.
There are plenty of things to see-St Peters Castle and the underwater museum.
There are many historical landmarks in Bodrum and the sea front view at sunset is breathtaking with the backdrop of the castle.
You can arrange trips to travel outside of Bodrum and Gumbet is only a short bus ride (dolomus) from the Bus station in Bodrum.Buses are pretty cheap to take you to other towns.
Bodrum has lots of markets and there is a very long old street that runs for quite a distance that has shop after shop, bars and restuarants.Adorned with trees, plants and windy alleys.
The harbour is fab with hundreds of old and new boats-some from the rich and famous ,some for fishing.
Our holiday was great-we had quiet days and busy days and will be going back this year for 3rd year!Recommend Bodrum to others?

Weather
The first week we were there was just right : top 80s, by the 2nd week it was so hot one morning at 10.30, it had reached just over the 100f mark.
But not really complaining, and if you wanted a real tan it was great so it was sun all the way for us.Holiday
The holiday its self was absolutely great, the Pedalissa apts were everything that we were looking for.
Clean, well looked after, and the pool was gorgeous, The staff were brilliant, and so good with our Grandson, especially a guy called SHAUN,they could'nt do enough for us !.
My only moan was that everywhere you went, you got hassled by shopkeepers, bars, people selling day trips etc.and they wouldnt take NO for an answer.
Bodrum its self was lovely, loads to see and do, and if you've got kids with you, they seem to love you all the more. Overall it was a great holiday.Recommend Bodrum to others?
