September begins to get much cooler in Bled, but it still remains fairly pleasant.
Daytime temperatures still reach up to a high of 20°C and, at night, cool to around 9°C.
You would still be fine to head out during the day wearing light clothing, however there is a risk of rain showers at this time of year so it would be wise to bring a light jacket, waterproof mac and umbrella with you.
Bled is an area of outstanding natural beauty and, as such, is great to visit at any time of year.
The centrepiece of the area is Lake Bled. This glacial like is surrounded by the Julian Alps and overlooked by the gothic Bled Castle. Boat tours of the lake are available or, if you are feeling particularly romantic, you can hire a boat and row out on your own!
The castle is over 1000 years old and resembles something out of a fairytale. Inside there is a fascinating museum telling you all about the history of the area. Be sure to also check out the replica printing press, the herbal gallery and the extensive wine cellars.
And of course, wine lovers can attend one of the regular tasting sessions held at the castle.
Nature lovers will not be able to resist Triglav National Park, where you can hike or cycle through the beautiful hills. Seasoned climbers can attempt Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain, situated in the park.
Nearby is the capital city of Ljubljana, which is definitely worth a visit. There are a wealth of museums and galleries to explore, as well as Roman ruins and a wide variety of cafes, bars and restaurants.
