October becomes much cooler and quieter in Bled as the main tourist season winds down.

Daytime temperatures still peak at a mild 15°C and can fall to 7°C in the evenings.

If you visit Bled in October you are likely to experience rain showers. On a pleasant, sunny day you would be fine to head out in a light jacket, but the cool evenings and risk of rain mean that it would be a good idea to bring a waterproof mac and umbrella.

If you are planning to explore the beautiful forestry in the area, then be sure to wear appropriate footwear such as strong boots. It is a good idea to check the weather forecast to avoid being caught up in bad weather.

The scenery around Bled is stunning all year round, so you can enjoy your stay whenever you decide to visit.

The hills surrounding Lake Bled are ideal for hiking, and you can also hire bikes to cycle through the area.

Lake Bled itself is a stunning, picture postcard scene, popular with nature lovers and amateur photographers. Boat tours around the lake are available in good weather.

Overlooking the lake is 1000 year old Bled Castle. Perched 130m above the lake, this gothic building houses a museum, herbal gallery, printing press and wine cellar.

Wine lovers take note regular tasting sessions take place here!

The Triglav National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty and you can head into it to explore the glacial lakes and waterfalls in the shadow of Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain.

And the nearby capital city of Ljubljana is certainly worth a visit. Europe's smallest capital city boasts some beautiful architecture with some fine art galleries, museums, bars and restaurants.
