March is slightly milder than the preceding winter months, but the weather can still be unpredictable in Bled.
Daytime temperatures now just about break double figures with a high of 11°C. However, at night it can be as cold as 1°C.
Rain and snow are likely at this time of year, so it is a good idea to wrap up extremely warm. Hats, gloves, scarves and overcoats are the order of the day and, if you are intending to get out and explore the surrounding area, then strong boots are a necessity.
Bled is surrounded by beautiful countryside and you will want to see it up close, but please check weather reports before you in case of particularly heavy snow or rainfall.
The main attraction in Bled is the beautiful glacial lake, which is surrounded by a backdrop of the Alps. Boats are available for a romantic cruise against picture postcard scenery.
Looming large over the lake is Bled Castle. This 1000 year old building is perched on a sheer cliff 130m above the water and is well worth a visit.
The buildings themselves resemble something out of a fairytale and, inside, there is a museum where you can learn about the history of the castle.
There is also a herbal gallery, a forge and a wine cellar perfect for those wanting to try some wine tasting!
The castle is also available for private functions, and weddings are especially popular here in the summer months.
Nature lovers should also head to Triglav National Park with its numerous lakes and waterfalls situated around Mount Triglav.
And for culture vultures, you can make the short journey to the capital city of Ljubljana with its abundance of bars, restaurants, art galleries and museums.
