February is slightly warmer than January but remains very cold.
Daytime temperatures only reach a high of 9°C and can fall to a bitter -3°C at night. Being situated by a lake, high up in the Julian Alps, it can feel much colder.
You are likely to experience snow if you are visiting Bled at this time of year, so warm clothing is essential. Hats, gloves, scarves and overcoats are a must, and strong boots are also a good idea for being out and about.
Though it may be extremely chilly, Bled is a beautiful place to visit at any time of year.
The main attraction in the area is Lake Bled. This glacial lake is surrounded the Alps and overlooked by the Gothic Bled Castle, which provides a picture postcard setting for any holiday. In fair weather, boat tours around the lake are available.
The castle itself, complete with moat and drawbridge, is over 1000 years old and houses a museum telling you about its history and that of the local area.
Wine connoisseurs should also check out the wine cellar, which runs regular tasting sessions.
Triglav National Park is next to Bled and is worth a visit to see the snowy peaks of Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain, up close.
From the peaceful countryside to the buzz of the city Slovenia's capital, Ljubljana, is a short drive away. Here you can wander the streets taking in the beautiful architecture, stop at one of the many excellent cafes and restaurants and visit one of the many art galleries and museums.
Highlights also include Ljubljana Castle and Roman ruins.
