April sees temperatures become much milder as spring arrives in Bled.

Daytime temperatures can now reach a pleasant high of 16°C. The nights are still fairly cold, with temperatures dropping to around 4°C.

Snow and rain are still quite likely at this time of year, so unfortunately you will need to pack for all eventualities and may find that what you choose to wear on any given day may not be suitable!

On clear, sunny days you would be fine to go out and about in a light jacket, but it would be advisable to bring an umbrella with you.

If you are heading out into the countryside around Bled, then you should wear appropriate footwear such as strong boots on account of icy and wet conditions.

You can take a boat out for a sail around Lake Bled. With its backdrop of the Julian Alps, this is the perfect romantic way to spend an afternoon.

Perched 130m above the lake, Bled Castle is also well worth a visit. The gothic structure is over 1000 years old and houses a museum, herbal gallery, forge and wine cellar.

Wine connoisseurs can join one of the regular wine tasting sessions that take place there.

Slovenia's capital city, Ljubljana, is only a 40 minute drive away and is definitely worth a visit during your stay in Bled. Here you can visit Ljubljana Castle, the Roman ruins, the National Gallery and a whole host of fascinating museums.

Nature lovers should definitely head to Triglav National Park, just next to Bled. Situated around Mount Triglav, this site contains many peaks and valleys of outstanding natural beauty, as well as several glacial lakes and waterfalls.
