What's the weather like in Bintan in March

Bintan, Indonesia, is a tropical island destination in the Riau archipelago just across the Singapore Strait from Singapore. Its tropical location results in essentially two different seasons in Bintan: the wet northeast monsoon season and the drier southwest monsoon season. March falls within the former, meaning that it's quite wet, hot and humid this time of year.

Rainfall

Rain is common in March with an average rainfall of around 159mm. Bintan Beaches in March

Because March falls in the wet monsoon season, which is characterised by quite a lot of rainfall and strong sea breezes, but also by a sea temperature that averages 28°C, snorkelling and scuba diving aren't the ideal activities this time of year. However, other water sports such as kite surfing, bodyboarding, surfing and wind surfing are! The Bintan Resorts on the northeast coast are where you'll find numerous water sports centres, equipment rental service, coastal tours and excursions, and water sports courses.

Bars and Restaurants

If you're looking for a place to eat, you might want to check out Saffron, the signature restaurant of the Banyan Tree Resort on the island's north coast. This is a five-star dining establishment that focuses on traditional Thai cuisinell dishes are prepared by the restaurant's Thai chef. With its indoor and outdoor seating areas overlooking the South China Sea, Saffron is a beautifully located restaurant. Make sure to try its specialty dishes, including chicken satays, soft shell crab, shrimp cakes and seafoodvery dish is made with locally grown ingredients.

For just a drink, snack or light meal, you can go to the Dino Bistro at Nirwana Gardens, located in the same area as the above-mentioned restaurant. Things to do in Bintan in March

Although the population of the island is extremely diverse, it is spread out and growing. Visitors will see a lot of cultural differences and will be well-served to learn some of the customs and do's and don'ts while in Bintan. It may be useful to know that some of the restrictions when entering Bintan include the prohibition of bringing television and radio sets, items imprinted with Chinese characters and Chinese medicines. Know the rules before you leave for your trip so you are not caught by surprise!

March falls within the wet monsoon season and may therefore not be the ideal time for outdoors pursuits. That being said, though; there is still plenty of sunshine to be enjoyed this time of year.

A particularly fascinating site to visit on the islandspecially because most of the locals are Muslimss the Santa Maria Cave. Built in the 18th century by a Dutch pastor, this small historic site lies about twenty minutes from Trikora Beach on the island's east coast. The site consists of several large Mary sculptures, the "Stations of the Cross" and the St. Mary Cave itself.

If you're after some more action, you might want to visit the Bintan Usahatama Go-Kart Track. One of the most popular attractions on the island, this small go-kart race track has 17 imported karts from the United Kingdom and allows you to enjoy an adrenaline rush like no other. You can pick between several types of karts and there are three different tracks.
