Béziers, France, is fortunate in that the primary tourist destinations are all relatively close together, making access a breeze, although the town is one of the hilliest in the region. Luckily, there is an incredible transportation system throughout the town centre and the surrounding area, both via road and canal. There's also plenty of alternative transportation options for those looking to combine convenience, sightseeing, and activity into one fun day out.

Temperatures remain warm in Béziers in September, with daytime readings especially pleasant at around 26 degrees Celsius. Overnight temperatures start to drop a little in preparation for the colder winter months, averaging around 17 degrees. However, September is unfortunately one of the wettest months of the year in Béziers, as it is in nearby Montpellier, with high precipitation levels of around 79 mm continuing well into October, and not really becoming much lighter until December. However, although this is heavy for the region, it's still only moderate compared to other holiday destinations.

A fantastic way to see the sights of Béziers and the surrounding area is to rent a bicycle. Relax Rentals have an office adjacent to the tourist office, so it's easy to locate. There are a wide range of sizes and features available, as well as children's bikes and toddler seats. The south of the town offers a gentle cycle, while the northern, more hilly area offers a challenge for experienced riders.

Dating from the early 1900s, Cafe de Plaisance is a traditional eatery located on the Pont Neuf overlooking the River Orb. Specialities include baked camembert, lamb shank, and, for the more adventurous, beef tartare and warmed pigs' trotters. During the warm and dry weather, visitors can sit outside, watching locals and travellers cross the bridge, while the cosy dining room is perfect for rainy or chilly days.

Odalys Residence Les Berges du Canal, located just three miles from the centre of town, is an apartment complex that's like a town of its own. Apartments cost from £38 per night and the resort includes an indoor swimming pool, laundrette, TV rental, kitchenettes, and activities. The complex can also arrange more activities within Béziers.
