What's the Weather like in Berlin in November

While most people know Berlin as being the home of the famous wall that fell after the Cold War, the city has a history long before and also after that time. It offers a little something for everyone, from history museums to art galleries to music theaters. The city also has an active sporting culture, playing host to various athletic events. Even though the days are shorter and the temperatures are colder, November can still be a great time to visit this city in Western Europe.

Temperature

The average daily temperature this month hovers around 5°C (around 41°F), inching toward the heart of winter. Be sure to pack the cold weather gear, including heavy coat or jacket and maybe even a pair of gloves, hat and scarf to keep your hands and face warm. At the coldest parts of the day, like the overnight and early morning hours, the lows drop down to almost-freezing, hitting 2°C (about 36°F).

Daylight

During the day, the highs get up to 7°C (around 45°F), making it warm enough to spend some time outside. This part of Germany sees only three hours of daylight each day, making for some short days. Fortunately, the city has plenty of indoor activities like museums, theaters and art galleries where you can spend your time during the dark days. You can also warm up and enjoy the amazing German fare in a local restaurant or bar.

Rainfall

Compared to October, which saw 36 mm of rain, the rainfall amounts increase, up to 48 mm this month. That amount comes over 15 days in the month, so you can expect to have more rainy days during the month than sunny days. The chance of rain on any given day is 40 percent, so you'll want to have an umbrella or poncho handy to stay dry if you're out and about.
