Holiday Weather Now

Sorted by popularity:

Updated at 10:01 GMT

Located on the south eastern coast of Spain within Alicante, Benidorm is the ideal holiday resort for couples and families in search of warm and sunny year-round weather, an upbeat party atmosphere and beautiful beaches. Although there is only a small number of bays in the resort, they're all incredibly popular and most offer a great choice of amenities and services for the whole family to enjoy.

Levante Beach

Levante beach, also referred to as Sunrise beach, is one of the most popular places to spend the day in Benidorm, Spain. Neighboured by the equally popular Poniente beach, both stretches of sand continue on for over four miles in total. Located close to the centre of the resort, Levante beach is lined by a promenade with several cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and hotels where you can wander if the sun gets a bit too much for you.

During the peak seasons, this Blue Flag beach can get very busy, although with more than 5,000 sun beds, you should have no problem finding your ideal spot to soak up the sun. Here the sand gently slopes into the calm water, creating the ideal conditions for swimming, especially for children or those who aren't confident in the sea.

There is a wealth of onsite facilities available for visitors to enjoy, including sun loungers, parasols, life guards (9am-8pm during summer and 10pm-5pm during winter), toilets, showers, water sports, children's play area and ramps for people with disabilities.

If you start getting a bit antsy, there is plenty to keep both children and adults alike entertained. The extensive list of water sports includes water skiing, jet skiing, paragliding, scuba diving, snorkelling, banana boats and kayaking, all of which can be paid for at several kiosks dotted along the beach. A little way out to sea you'll also find diving boards, swinging bridges, rafts, water slides and aquatic playground which can all be used by the public and are watched over by life guards during the summer season.

Poniente Beach

Towards the west of Levante beach, Poniente beach is a golden sand bay which stretches along the coast for miles. Slightly less crowded than its neighbour, even during the peak summer months, this beach is perfect for couples and families who want a more relaxing day at the beach, whilst still being close to a great range of services and amenities.

This Blue Flag beach is cleaned every evening and provides loads of room for visitors to enjoy the onsite facilities which include sun loungers, shades, showers, toilets, water sports, exercise classes and life guards. The sea here is almost completely rock-free, so no protective footwear is required if you want to have a go at swimming, snorkelling or diving. The waves can sometimes get a bit rough, so be sure to check the colour of the flags before going for a dip green means 'safe', yellow means 'be cautious' and red means 'no swimming'.

There are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including five children's play areas, 12 sports areas and even two beach libraries. Water sport enthusiasts will also have plenty to choose from, with jet skiing, water skiing, banana boats and scuba diving all available.

Just like Levante beach, Poniente beach is also lined by an extensive promenade lined with plenty of bars and eateries where you can enjoy a spot of lunch. There are also many hotels and shops in the area where you can pick up a souvenir of your holiday in Benidorm.

Malpas Beach

Situated close to the harbour and the castle cliffs of Benidorm, Malpas beach is a small golden sand bay which offers an entirely difference experience to the resort's two main beaches, Levante beach and Poniente beach.

Although there is no promenade lining the bay, Malpas beach is just a stone's throw away from the centre of the resort where you'll find a number of cafes, bars, restaurants, hotels and shops, making it a popular place for families to spend the day.

Due to its more laid-back atmosphere, this beach allows visitors to see a completely different side of Benidorm, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist-heavy areas and closer to the original marine lifestyle which the resort is based on. The relaxed vibe also provides the ideal conditions for enjoying a sleep in the sunshine or working on your tan in peace and quiet.

The lack of water sports makes this beach the perfect place to enjoy a swim in the sea, without having to worry about jet skis or pedaloes getting in the way. Although there are no aquatic sports to enjoy, the beach does have a volleyball court, as well as a handful of other facilities, including sun loungers and shades.

Cala Ti Ximo Beach

Found on a very small cove next to the road at the end of Levante beach, Cala Ti Ximo is a secluded bay, ideal for those who want to enjoy tranquillity whilst they soak up some rays. This pebble beach is the furthest one away from the centre of the resort and can be quite a challenge to reach. The use of a car is a must and it's recommended that you park in the nearby residential complex and walk down to the beach, instead of attempting to find somewhere to park at the cove itself.

At just 60 metres in length, Cala Ti Ximo beach is the smallest in Benidorm, which is why there are very few facilities to be found onsite. During the summer months sun loungers and parasols are available for the public to use and the waters surrounding the cove are perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Due to the remote location, this beach is popular with naturists, however being nude isn't obligatory.
