Banff attracts loads of snowboarders and skiers in April with its ample snow and temperatures which are mild compared to the harsh, earlier months. 

The air in Banff is very dry which creates atmospheric conditions wherein the weather can change quite suddenly. The average daytime temperatures are around 10°C (49°F), whereas the minimum average temperatures during the night are around -3°C (28°F).

Banff receives a very good amount of snow and, as a result, it has off-piste tracks which are rivalled by no other skiing holiday destinations.

Even though the temperatures are milder during April, it can feel quite cold due to the wind chill so be sure to carry enough warm, waterproof clothing. The average amount of rainfall is 32.4 mm over 11 days.

If you want to experience some more culture during your visit, the Banff Summer Arts Festival should start around the end of the month. It is an exciting, interesting festival showcasing a number of different artists, it runs throughout the summer until September.
