What's the Weather Like in Ayia Napa in June

Temperature

Although summer was definitely on its way in May, it is in June that summer officially arrives in Ayia NapaCyprus. The average low temperature is warming up significantly to 18°C. The average high temperature is now at 30°C. Both temperatures increase greatly in the course of the month. The low temperature in June rises from 18°C to 21°C, while the high temperature improves from 28°C in the beginning to 31°C at the end of the month. The overall average daily temperature in June is a very pleasant 24°C, which makes it the fourth-warmest month of the year, after July, August and September.

Sea Temperature

The temperature of the Mediterranean Sea rises as well. It is now at an average of 24°C. June is without question the beginning of the prime tourist season in Ayia Napa.

Rainfall

Rainfall is virtually non-existent during the summer. There is an average of 1 mm of precipitation, which is spread out over just 2 days of rainfall. Only July, August and September receive even less rain. The chance that precipitation occurs lowers in the course of the month. On June 1, there is a 11% chance that you will experience some kind of precipitation. By the end of the month, on June 30, there is a mere 4% chance of rainfall. In case rainfall does occur, the two most likely types are thunderstorms (happening on 42% of days with rainfall) and moderate rain (on 38% of rainy days). Light rain can be expected on 17% of days with rainfall. All types are by far most likely to occur on June 1.

Clouds

Cloud cover decreases greatly throughout June as well. While on June 1 there is 16% cloud cover, on June 30 there is only 8% cloud cover left. This means that the sky throughout June is clear to begin with, but opens up even more in the course of the month.

Sunshine Hours

The fact that there are less clouds results in more sunshine. The average June day receives no less than 14 hours of sunshine, making it the sunniest month of the year, together with July. With warm to hot temperatures and virtually constant sunshine, it's now the absolutely perfect weather to hit the beach.

Daylight Hours

The days are longest in June as well. There is, however, no real difference between their length in the course of the month. June 1 has 14.20 hours of daylight; June 21 is the longest day of the month and of the entire year with 14.29 daylight hours; and June 30 has 14.28 hours of daylight.
