What's the Weather Like in Ayia Napa in March
Temperature and Sea Temperature
Although March does warm up in Ayia Napa, full-on summer has not arrived yet. At night, the average low temperature is 8°C, but the high temperatures do reach an average of 19°C during the daytime hours. Both the average lows and highs increase throughout the monthhe average low temperature climbs from 8°C to 10°C in the course of March, while the average high increases from 18°C in the beginning of the month to an already very pleasant 20°C at the end. The average daily temperature in March is 14°C and the average sea temperature is 17°C, which is the same as February and as cold as the Mediterranean Sea ever gets in Ayia Napa. Some March days may be suitable for swimming and there will most likely be scuba diving opportunities, even this early in the tourist season.
Sunshine Hours
While March is by no means the official start of the tourist season, the temperature is rising and so is the amount of sunshine. Now, each day has an average of 10 hours of sunshine, one more than February and November and two more than January and December, but still much less than the annual high of 14 hours in June and July.
Daylight Hours
This increase in sunshine hours is the result of two causes. First, the lengthening of the days throughout the montharch 1 has 11.26 hours of daylight, while March 31 receives 12.32 daylight hours. Second, the decrease in cloud cover, which allows for more blue skies.
Clouds
Cloud cover decreases from a chance of 42% in the beginning of the month to 37% toward the end. Cloud cover is still fairly high, though, especially compared with the virtually cloudless summer months of July and August.
Rainfall
This slight decrease in cloud cover, in its turn, results in less rainfall in March. March receives a total of 42mm of precipitation in the course of the month and has 9 days of rainfall. In terms of total rainfall, it is the fifth-wettest month of the year; when it comes to days of rainfall, it has the fourth-most days of rainfall. Moderate rain occurs on 45% of those 9 days of rainfall. Thunderstorms happen on 37% of rainy days and light rain falls on 16% of those days. The likelihood of experiencing precipitation decreases throughout the monthhe first days have a 37% chance of receiving rain; March 30 has a 30% chance. This percentage will drop ever so greatly as the year moves into April.

Things to Do in Ayia Napa in March
Famagusta
A fun thing to do in May is visiting the city of Famagusta, which is located in the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This can make it rather difficult to visit the city from the southern part of the island, where Ayia Napa is located, but crossing the border is worth the effort. The Old City in Famagusta is home to the best-preserved fortifications built by the Venetians in the eastern part of the Mediterranean. There are several beautiful historic buildings, including a cathedral and a church.
Shopping
In Ayia Napa itself, you may want to spend a day (or more) shopping. Even despite the town's rather small size, there are plenty of outlets and stores. Especially in recent years there has been an increase in the number of clothing stores selling major brands and classy outfits to wear to nightclubs. Other clothing and items, such as beachwear, designer shoes, souvenirs, jewelry and watches can be purchased (or dreamed about) as well. Additionally, the Ayia Thekla Market is worth strolling around in, while the Winter Market takes places on Saturday mornings in winter and consists of a number of stalls selling a wide variety of goods.
