What's the Weather like in Atlas Mountains in June
Temperature
June is a slightly less popular time for tourists to visit the Atlas Mountains simply due to the incredible heat in the weather that this month often offers to its guests. Though it is still not as hot as the warmest month of the year in July, average temperatures of 26°C do make it too uncomfortable for most trekkers to take on too great distances at this time of the year.
Peak temperatures average 33°C during the month June and often reach even higher. Therefore anyone visiting the region will require adequate sun protection at all times. And it is advisable to carry adequate amounts of fresh water to avoid the risk of heat exhaustion.
However there are still many cooler patches in June offered by the shade of the mountains themselves. This means that, though this can be a very hot month in Morocco as a whole, temperatures can still fall as low as 18°C in the night and feel even colder at the higher altitudes that the Atlas Mountains can offer.
Rain
June is also the driest month of the year in the Atlas Mountains ensuring only an average of 2 days of the month are likely to see any sort of rain, if at all. And when there is rain, only an average of 3mm of precipitation are expected throughout the entire month, making any shower highly insignificant.
Sunshine
The number of daily sunshine hours in June reaches a staggering 10 hours per day, providing warm, bright and clear days for all those that venture there. And thought July does have a greater number of sunshine hours than this time a month earlier, for those that are keen to wake early to see the sun rise, the sights in June over this exceptional landscape offer some of the best views in the world.
