Ao Nang is located in Krabi province, one of the oldest communities in Thailand and is slowly catching up with popular Phuket in terms of beaches and nightlife. There are two seasons in Ao Nang, the dry and wet season. January is a busy time for Ao Nang as it is the hot season with average temperatures of 27 degrees at highs of 31 degrees and lows of 22 degrees Celsius. Rainfall averages 45mm with January being the second driest month of the year. There is an average of 9.9 hours of sunshine every day.

Visitors who go to Ao Nang go there mainly for its beaches. One of the unique beaches is Fossil Shell Beach or Su San Hoi, which means Seashell Graveyard and is located 7 kilometres west of Ao Nang.  Here you will see many slabs that look like concrete but are compressed old shellfish that are already 40 million years old. There is also a small museum and some souvenir shops.

The Dive Ao Nang offers diving around the Ao Nang area and mostly near Koh Phi Phi. Diving in these waters allow you to see the rich and diverse range of marine life and colourful coral. They also offer a 3-day dive in the A-S-K Cluster for more experienced divers. PADI courses are offered for different levels starting from novice to professionals.
